Upon dispatching Starscourge Radahn in Elden Ring, players will earn Radahn's Great Rune. Fans will not be able to equip this Great Rune straightaway, though, as it must first be activated.
It can be hard to figure out exactly where to activate Radahn's Great Rune in Elden Ring, as it's not necessarily a location in Caelid itself - more like above it. Finding this place is the precise purpose of this guide, and players should be prepared to do a great deal of jumping.
Updated August 1, 2022 by Erik Petrovich: The Divine Tower of Caelid features something Elden Ring players dread - a platforming puzzle. Once cleared, though, activating Radahn's Great Rune is as simple as riding an elevator. The haredest part of getting here to activate Radahn great rune, though, is the Dragonbarrow. The Dragonbarrow is one of Elden Ring's most dangerous locations, especially for players who weren't overleveled for Radahn, and Radahn's Great Rune is more useful late in the game. Don't feel the need to get to Radahn's Great Rune tower too early as Godrick's Great Rune gives better bonuses. Later in the game, though, the percentage-based bonuses of Radahn's Great Rune make it a better choice.
Elden Ring: Where to Activate Radahns Great Rune
Each Great Rune is associated with a specific Divine Tower and must be activated there to gain its effects. For Radahn's Great Rune, restoration can be achieved at the Divine Tower of Caelid on the north coast of Greyoll's Dragonbarrow.To get to the Dragonbarrow in the first place, head to the Third Church of Marika and take the teleporter hidden in a bush just to the northeast. This leads to the Beast Clergyman in the Bestial Sanctum, on the northeast tip of the Dragonbarrow.
How To Get To The Divine Tower of Caelid
From the Bestial Sanctum, head south and across the Farum Greatbridge to reach a Grace outside Lenne's Rise - and take care to avoid Greyll on the way. Then, either take the spiritspring upwards or take the path winding below the Farum Greatbridge and head west.
You should see the Divine Tower of Caelid from far away. Heading directly to it is a recipe for disaster as there are lots of rotting dragons in the area - instead, hug the cliffs on the north edge of the Dragonbarrow until you reach the stony outcropping that leads to the Tower. The northern cliff edge is most easily reached by heading under the Greatbridge rather than using the spiritspring.
Ascending the Divine Tower of Caelid
It's best to summon Torrent as Elden Ring makes some platforming segments too far for the player to jump to. At the edge of the cliff just before the Tower, jump on the root below and jump to the ledge. Then climb the nearbya ladder and head south, crossing an arch to reach another ladder. Climb this ladder, then head northward and use the triangular walkway to reach the northern corner of the Tower, taking care not to fall through the holes. Sprint-jumping can make it easier to clear these gaps.
After progressing further through the platforming segment, climb a third ladder, then head left toward the Site of Lost Grace. The entrance to the elevator, which leads to the top of the tower where Radahn's Great Rune can be activated, is to the right, while the other door leads to an interior platforming segment that ends with a Godskin Apostle boss fight.
How To Use Radahns Great Rune (And What It Does)
Like all Great Runes in Elden Ring, Radahn's Great Rune can only be used once activated. After beating Radahn and equipping the restored Great Rune of Radahn at a Site of Grace, consume a Rune Arc to activate it. Until you die, the equipped Great Rune will take effect. Great Runes unfortunately do not grant any passive bonuses and must be activated in this manner.
Radahn's Great Rune increases HP, FP, and Stamina by a decent amount when it is equipped. Earlier in Elden Ring Godrick's Great Rune is better as the increase to HP, FP, and Stamina is better at low levels. However, later in the game the five levels granted by Godrick's Great Rune start mattering less and less, and you may find that Radahn's Great Rune ends up being more powerful, especially when it scales by percentage and not on point increases.
