Elden Ring was an immediate hit out of the gate, earning widespread critical acclaim and smashing FromSoftware sales records in the process. However, there's always room for improvement, and so it didn't take FromSoftware long to release update 1.03 for its beloved action-RPG. Elden Ring update 1.03 made a number of quality of life changes to the game as well as addressed some balancing issues, but not all the changes have been welcomed by everyone.

Elden Ring update 1.03 added a new NPC and expanded on the quest phases of existing NPCs, which are changes that have been embraced by the community. However, it seems that the update also nerfed Starscourge Radahn, also known as General Radahn, making what was once one of Elden Ring's most challenging boss battles a lot easier. It seems some fans are wanting FromSoftware to reverse the changes made to Radahn to restore the intimidating boss to his former glory.

While it wasn't detailed in the Elden Ring update 1.03 patch notes, FromSoftware nerfed the Radahn boss fight. Dataminers discovered that Radahn did less damage and was less likely to actually hit players after the update. Elden Ring players who struggled with Radahn may have appreciated the nerf, but there are those who enjoyed the challenge and want the nerf reversed so that he is once again one of the toughest boss battles in the game.

However, others have pointed out that one of the reasons why the Radahn boss fight in Elden Ring was so tough was because his hit boxes were inaccurate. This meant that sometimes Elden Ring players would be hit by Radahn even if his swords never actually touched them. So it seems part of the reason why the Radahn boss fight was so difficult to begin with was because it wasn't actually fair.

Of course, there are other ways that FromSoftware could make the Radahn boss fight tougher without changing the hit boxes again. Simply boosting Radahn's damage output would likely go a long way in making sure that he is still a challenge for players. However, it's unclear if the developer has any plans on changing Radahn again in any capacity, so Elden Ring fans shouldn't hold their breath.

Considering Elden Ring's incredible success, fans can expect FromSoftware to continue supporting the game with updates that fix issues and address fan feedback in the weeks and months ahead. Maybe there will even be an Elden Ring DLC expansion to capitalize on the game's huge sales, but that's just speculation at this time.

Elden Ring is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
