The Poison Mist Spell is an Incantation that releases a fog of Poison build-up in front of the caster in Elden Ring, and it can be used in motion. It’s a decent Spell that players can get early in the game since it’s located in Limgrave, Weeping Peninsula. The only annoying part in the process of getting the Poison Mist is that there’s a teleporting Teardrop Scarab, so players need to be quick to get the Incantation.

The Poison Mist belongs to the servants of rot; those who remain in poison for a period of time are very familiar with rot. It also compares it to the cycle of rebirth, as it is death that brings forth life. If players are not satisfied with this Elden Ring Incantation, there’s a similar Ash of War called Poisonous Mist that Tarnished can use alongside the Poison Mist.

After a while, some buried ruins in the ground will appear; turn southeast when near them. Keep going in the same direction, and eventually, players should see an Elden Ring's Teardrop Scarab in the distance.

Approach the Teardrop Scarab and immediately hit it before it teleports away. If players were too late and the creature teleported anyway, search for it thoroughly as it doesn’t move far.

Using long-range attacks like Sorcery or Arrows can definitely help, as the Tear drops scarab can be killed from a long distance without triggering its teleportation ability.

What Is The Poison Mist Incantation

poison mist’s features in elden ring

The Poison Mist is one of the four Servants of Rot Incantations, as all of them share a certain buff and are related to poison. The remaining three Elden Ring Incantations that belong to the same category are Pest Threads, Poison Armament, and Scarlet Aeonia.

The first two can be purchased and collected from Caelid, respectively, while the third is bought from Enia at the Roundtable Hold in exchange for the Remembrance of the Rot Goddess, meaning Tarnished have to defeat Malenia, Blade of Miquella to get the Incantation.

Another prominent feature of Poison Mist is that it’s a great Spell for sneak attacks since it doesn’t alert enemies. Therefore, players can get behind an enemy and keep casting the Spell until the foe's HP drops to zero.

In addition, Poison Mist is perfect for sleeping enemies, like the Godskin Duo in Elden Ring, as the Incantation doesn’t wake the enemy up.

Wielding the Poison Mist is not that hard because it only requires 12 Faith, and takes up one slot. The Spell consumes 10 Stamina and causes 10 Poison build-up per tick.

Elden Ring is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
