Elden Ring is no stranger to players finding unique solutions to difficult bosses, and a video which sees a Death Rite Bird felled with a single hit is no exception. Wanting to outperform a previous attempt uploaded to Reddit, this Elden Ring player found the winning combination of talismans, incantations, and skills to succeed.

Big brother to the comparatively cuddly Deathbird, those with Rite for a middle name are any Tarnished's worst nightmare. With an elongated wingspan, additional magic damage, and Frostbite status build up, the threat posed by these freakish raptors is immense. Able to attack by sweeping their poker, eat players up with a deformed beak, and one shot with an explosion from dozens of feet away, it is no surprise many have turned to cheesing this annoyance. With the recent release of Elden Ring patch 1.07, which saw an overwhelming number of improvements to sorcery, incantations, and skills, taking down this feral avian has never been easier and is just as satisfying.

In a video uploaded by u/Flint_Vorselon, a naked Elden Ring player is seen applying a variety of buffs, including the incantations Golden Vow and Howl of Shabriri. Although the latter is not technically considered a buff, activating the Frenzied Flame incantation provides the caster with a 25% increase to damage, with the 30% increase to damage taken fortunately of no concern in this circumstance. Halfway into the video and the Death Rite Bird is still yet to spawn, with weapon skills now being used to multiply damage output even further.

Finally, the Death Rite Bird is birthed from the sky and manages to lunge once at the player, before the Sacred Blade weapon skill fires a holy projectile that deals 22140 damage. The redditor went on to outline how they achieved this, with the Inseparable Sword, maximum Faith, and a horde of damage increases that can be found in a reply underneath the post. With that particular Death Rite Bird boasting 17625 health points, the player made a mockery of its name, but noted that while the single hit was sufficient, the damage could have been significantly higher.

The Elden Ring community has attempted to achieve the highest possible damage value in the game since release, with set-ups so complicated players would use third-party software to program the inputs required. With new maps and raytracing referenced in Elden Ring's newest update, fans will no doubt have many more tools at their disposal when attempting to break these records in the months ahead.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
