A video shared by an Elden Ring player shows them locked in battle with the treacherous boss, Dragonlord Placidusax, and managing to finish off the formidable dragon with a single katana slice. Due to the grandeur of the demigods, Elden Ring is a game full of spectacle. However, few moments will live up to this player's amazing killing move.

Players across the Lands Between will find moments throughout the game that place them front and center in their own personal Homeric adventure. Elden Ring is a world filled with popular culture and anime references for players to find and experience. Whether it is wielding Guts' Greatsword from Berserk, or obtaining the Grafted Blade Greatsword in Elden Ring, a reference to the iconic throne in Game of Thrones, players have the opportunity to live as their own epic hero.

One Elden Ring player, known as jdyhrberg, posted a video to Reddit showing them slaying Dragonlord Placidusax with an epic anime-style finish. The video opens with jdyhrberg standing in the middle of the arena searching the skies for the legendary boss. Finally, the Elden Ring boss appears above in thundercloud form. At this point in the battle, Dragonlord Placidusax is down to his last point of health. The player just needs to avoid this attack to safely defeat the enemy. Instead of dodging and attacking from safety, the player stands their ground and uses the Rivers of Blood's weapon skill, Corpse Piler. This allows the player to simultaneously avoid the enemy and kill them in one fluid motion. The boss disintegrated after being touched by the sword and jdyhrberg walked away unscathed.

While the player could have taken a safer route, they instead pulled off an amazing feat. With Elden Ring out for over a year, players are constantly looking to up the ante in boss encounters. As champions of their own stories, they aim to overcome every adversary without flinching and walk away triumphant. Encountering these enemies for the first time is not easy, and it takes everything a player has. However, after multiple playthroughs, players often kill their foes with finesse.

Defeating bosses is not only about strategy and skill in Elden Ring but also about creativity and flair. Players are encouraged to think outside the box and use their own unique style to take down the gods. While some may choose to play it safe and take their time in battles, others like jdyhrberg demonstrate that there is a certain thrill in taking a risk and striving for the ultimate finish.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
