Elden Ring is an incredibly challenging game. While early reports that certain gameplay changes, like the addition of stealth and more progression paths via the open world, would make Elden Ring easier, now that players have the game in their hands they might disagree. Yet in a game where most everything can (and will) kill players, sometimes embarrassing situations can happen. One Elden Ring player was willing to share what they claim is their most embarrassing death, and it certainly delivers.

The title of the post, shared in Reddit's Elden Ring community, is "My most embarrassing death in a FromSoft game to date." That's an impressive claim on its own, because From Software has so many games, each with endless ways to have been embarrassed. The clip itself sees the player battling with a Golem, a giant mechanical enemy powered by fire, defeating the enemy with just a sliver of health remaining. They then enter their menu to look at the new weapon they

At this point, everyone should know what's coming next. The player has just a fraction of health left and is distracted in a menu, completely unaware of their surroundings in the open world. Something is going to kill the player while they aren't paying attention. That's embarrassing on its own, but what gets the killshot makes it that much more embarrassing. The player killed by one of Elden Ring's most ignorable creatures, a rolling goat.

As the player stands there, considering their rewards after a hard-fought battle, the rolling goat charges them and hits them in the back. Rolling goat charges don't typically do much damage, but in this case it was just enough to finish the player off. Elden Ring flashed "You Died," around 4,000 runes got dropped on the ground, and the player felt so ashamed that they had to post their experience on Reddit.

Today has been a good day for funny Elden Ring deaths. In another post on Reddit, someone was facing off against the notorious Night Cavalry and had it down to a sliver of health. They, too, were low health, trying to find the perfect opportunity to attack. That's when they accidentally ran into a random weak enemy who almost accidentally struck the player with their torch, dying. It's worse in that the player didn't even get a reward for their struggle.

As previously noted, there's always something trying to kill the player in Elden Ring. Even the typically non-hostile animals that roam the open world. Odds are, the player will be able to recover their lost runes with relative ease, but it's still going to be a walk of shame to recover them. Hopefully, more Elden Ring players will continue sharing their embarrassing deaths going forward.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
