One Elden Ring player fell to the Beast Clergyman in the Crumbling Farum Azula in a hilarious way. In a funny turn of events, the player finished the Beast Clergyman's first phase but died shortly after in an extremely unexpected way. This fight is one of the most difficult boss encounters in the game.

The Crumbling Farum Azula is one of the late-game areas that unlock after committing a cardinal sin by using the Forge of the Giants to burn down the Erdtree. This area is extremely infamous among Elden Ring players for its platforming and is littered with dragons to fight. Many players are familiar with the main boss of this area, but some have yet to discover all of its secrets. For example, the hidden boss fight against the Dragonlord Placidusax. The Crumbling Farum Azula is an area that is out of space and time. This is why players can encounter the Beast Clergyman both here and in Caelid, essentially at the same time.

In the video posted to Reddit, an Elden Ring player whose username is DaddyPingu2874 showed off the unusual and rather comedic way that they died in the fight against the Beast Clergyman. The video shows the player attacking with the Bloodhound Fang, which is a curved sword that has a distinctive weapon art where the user can simultaneously back-flip and swing the sword before dashing forward for a second attack. This attack does a lot of poise damage and can easily knock down a boss after multiple hits. The player dances around the arena avoiding attacks until they do enough poise damage to open up for a critical hit on the boss. When they finally landed the critical hit on the Beast Clergyman, the cutscene to its second phase was initiated only for DaddyPingu2874 to immediately fall to their death afterward. When the critical hit animation started, the player was teleported to the front of the enemy to perform the attack. The Beast Clergyman was so close to the edge of the platform that the player floated off the arena and stayed in midair until the animation was completed. This caused them to fall to their death just as the second phase began.

Instead of being upset, the player took to Reddit to share their rather unfortunate fate, with the title, "Gotta love these moments." Dying in an unusual fashion is nothing new to Elden Ring players, in fact, many have come to cherish the random ways that a character can perish in the Lands Between. Videos can be found all over Reddit with players posting absurd ways their character died in Elden Ring, creating shareable moments to enjoy.

Elden Ring is a game that offers much more than just gameplay. Having fun with the wonky Elden Ring animations and laughing after failing makes the game much less agonizing and more worthwhile.

Elden Ring is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
