One Elden Ring player goes up against the game's final boss and defeats them using only a torch as a weapon. Elden Ring has plenty of versatility when it comes to building a character, and there is almost no wrong answer to what a player wants to do as long as it makes sense. Players can use swords, bows, magics, and throwables to fight, while there are even cases where an Elden Ring player uses a stonesword key to get out of a sticky situation. Of these tools that players can use, there's one that has utility outside of combat, and that is the torch. However, it can also be pretty useful as a weapon.

The official final boss of Elden Ring is a two-phase boss fight involving Radagon, the one who shattered the Elden Ring, and the Elden Beast afterward. Radagon isn't the toughest fight in the game, despite being the final fight, but he is not one to be taken lightly, as Radagon can parry incantations like Scarlet Aeonia and still hits players hard as well. The Elden Beast fight involves plenty of attacks the player needs to avoid and a lot of running as the Elden Beast moves around the arena frequently. Being killed in either phase means the player must restart both fights.

It is this fight that one player decided to take on with a torch. Posting to r/Eldenring, user Razzaq90s uploaded a clip of their battle against Elden Ring's final boss. Their character is naked besides wielding a single torch and manages to beat Radagon rather quickly, dodging most of his attacks and dealing decent chunks of damage with each swing. It is once the player gets to the Elden Beast that things become a bit more difficult, and takes up a majority of the video.

The Elden Beast's attacks hit wide, and with the boss moving so much, it can be difficult to catch up with them and attack, yet this player manages to do so. Avoiding most of the attacks levied at them, including the Elden Beast's grab attack that has been known to kill three players at once, the player, with some help from the Lone Wolf Ashes, is able to take down the Elden Beast and beat the game using a torch.

Thanks to Elden Ring's versatility in combat, it's possible to beat any boss utilizing any weapon, so long as the player knows what to do. There are already many clips of players taking on Elden Ring's hardest boss Malenia using weapons like consumables to defeat her. However, results like that are usually after countless failures, and it's up to the player to learn from them in order to finally succeed in the end.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
