FromSoftware games are notorious for being some of the most difficult games around, and the company's latest title, Elden Ring, is no different. One Elden Ring player, therefore, took it upon themselves to make the game even more difficult by using an unconventional controller with surprising results.

Beating FromSoftware games with unconventional controllers is not a new trend as there have been a good few fans over the years who have succeeded in beating the games with wacky controllers. Last year, an Argentinean streamer beat Knight Artorias while blindfolded using an electric piano as a controller. Artorias is known to many as one of the hardest bosses in the first Dark Souls game, which only stands to make the feat even more impressive. The run most likely took a significant number of attempts, but overcoming hardship has become a part of the series' formula.

More recently, an Elden Ring player was able to beat a boss using only a Nintendo Switch Ring Fit Adventure Controller. The control scheme required the Twitch streamer to jog on the spot to move his character forward and squeeze the controller to attack. The boss that SuperLouis64 beat was Bloodhound Knight Darriwil, known for his unorthodox movement and attack patterns. This was an exceptionally impressive accomplishment when one considers that Elden Ring has been out for less than a week.

The successful run also took place not too long after Hidetaka Miyazaki apologized to players who find Elden Ring to be too hard. SuperLouis64 showed that with enough time and perseverance, Elden Ring players will likely be able to face any challenge they are faced with. Miyazaki also stated in the same interview that the enjoyment of the difficult FromSoftware games comes from overcoming hardship.

Other impressive FromSoftware runs include The Happy Hob who beat Dark Souls 1-3, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, and, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice consecutively without taking a single hit. The streamer had previously completed another no-hit run beating all the games besides Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice as the game had not been released yet. It will be interesting to see when The Happy Hob will attempt another Soulslike no-hit run with Elden Ring added to the mix.

Another streamer also impressively beat a Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice boss while blindfolded. The attempt was particularly impressive as the player needed to memorize audio cues to figure out where the boss was in order to defeat him and was luckily able to do so with relative ease.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
