Elden Ring has been out for several months now, and since its release, it has accumulated a large and loyal player community. As such, plenty of players engage with each other by sharing their experiences of playing Elden Ring online.
Elden Ring players tend to share clips of their progress in the game, sometimes highlighting humorous, embarrassing, or triumphant moments in their playthroughs. However, some players take it upon themselves to commit to playing the game or fighting certain enemies in different ways. One player has decided to do something similar by taking on the boss character Malenia in a specific manner.
Reddit user JPNBusinessman recently made a post on the Elden Ring subreddit showing their Tarnished character facing Malenia, Blade of Miquella. The video's title states that they're going to beat the popular boss Malenia every other day with a different character build. They're going to be doing this until new DLC for Elden Ring is announced, and they're currently on Day 2.

In the video, their character is dressed similar to the NPC character Lady Tanith, Consort of the Devourer, showing them fighting Malenia in both phases of the boss fight. In the post, JPNBusinessman shares details on the specific items they use for the build in the video. Their build for the day uses the weapon Flame Misericorde with Flame of the Redmanes, the Blasphemous Blade, and the Erdtree Seal. The spells they use include Flame Grant Me Strength, Golden Vow, Burn O Flame, and the spell Flame of the Fell God.
They also revealed that the armor they use is called the Consort's Set, which explains why their Tarnished character visually resembles Tanith. They also list the talismans they used, including Marika's Soreseal, Radagon Idol or possibly Radagon Icon, Fire Scorpion Charm, and the Viridian Amber Medallion. For Physick, they had a combination of +Stamina and +Flame damage mixture to use in the boss fight with Malenia.
JPNBusinessman also shared their strategy used against Malenia shown in the video. This includes using the Flame of the Fell God spell on Malenia while using the Flame of Redmanes weapon to stagger her. Once the second phase of Malenia's boss fight starts, they switch to using the Blasphemous Blade for critical hits against her whenever possible in the fight.
While plenty of commenters were impressed with the idea of fighting Malenia with a new build, some were in disbelief that JPNBusinessman can do it. JPNBusinessman would explain in the post why they're doing this every other day instead of every day. They state that they've learned that doing this challenge once a day isn't possible for them, especially since it takes them at least one day to practice using new builds in Elden Ring.
