An Elden Ring gamer destroys Malenia, Blade of Miquella, with incredibly powerful Mimic Tear ashes. Elden Ring is known for its hundreds of bosses scattered around the massive open world. Players might encounter mighty dragons like Agheel, Adula, and Smarag or agile bosses like Black Knife Ringleader. Most bosses in Elden Ring are optional, so fans can fight them in any order they deem fit.

Elden Ring players can also take advantage of a unique mechanic to give them an upper hand in boss fights by using spirit ashes. They can use the Spirit Caller Bell to summon a spirit to assist them in the fight. Elden Ring has a collection of hundreds of spirit ashes, including Lone Wolf, Lhutel The Headless, and Wandering Noble. But the most famous spirit ashes among Elden Ring players are Mimic Tear and Black Knife Tiche. Particularly, Mimic Tear can overwhelm the most challenging bosses of Elden Ring, like Malenia, as one Reddit user found out.

Reddit user Competitive-Front412 uploaded a video on the social media platform showing their boss fight with Malenia, Blade of Miquella. Ironically, their character looks nearly identical to the fearsome Elden Ring boss due to their equipment. They summon the Mimic Tear ash as the fight begins and move to the sidelines to observe the following events. Initially, the spirit struggles against Malenia but bounces back soon, landing multiple hits with lightning attacks like Ancient Dragons' Lightning Strike and Fortissax's Lightning Spear. Surprisingly, the Mimic Tear performs combo moves and pummels Malenia with back-to-back strikes, even dodging her Waterfowl Dance attack.

Malenia seems utterly helpless during the battle as she fails to recover and gain significant momentum. The Mimic Tear defeats the first phase easily after a barrage of melee and magic attacks, triggering her Goddess of Rot phase. Malenia hits back in this phase and causes trouble to the spirit ash, but only for a short while. The Mimic Tear retakes control of the fight by performing combo moves and devastating lightning attacks. As expected, the formidable Elden Ring boss is killed in nearly two minutes after failing to cope with the highly overpowered spirit ash.

Unlike other spirit ashes from Elden Ring that consume FP, Mimic Tear gobbles up 660 HP. When deployed, a Mimic Tear will spawn with identical equipment as the player, including weapons, spells, armor, consumables, and talismans. However, it will not use Great Runes or items from the pouch.

Elden Ring is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
