An Elden Ring player witnessed a bizarre occurrence when a Night's Cavalry boss abandoned the fight to jump off a nearby cliff. Elden Ring has cemented itself as one of the best role-playing games of all time in the months since its release, winning Game of The Year at The Game Awards 2022 recently. Elden Ring's story and gameplay are the primary reasons for its immense success, along with the diverse geography of The Lands Between.

The main story campaign of Elden Ring takes players on an amazing journey where they encounter figures like Godfrey, Morgott, and Radagon of The Golden Order. Meanwhile, gamers can also fight hundreds of optional bosses not required to progress in the game, including Malenia, Godskin Apostle, and Dragonlord Placidusax. Fighting these bosses improves a player's combat skills in Elden Ring and often leads to exciting rewards like overpowered weapons. Night's Cavalry is an optional boss who can be fought only at night. Usually, they are fierce warriors, but one Elden Ring gamer witnessed a Night's Cavalry boss doing something unexpected.

Reddit user RiyaB1999 uploaded a short clip on the Elden Ring subreddit showing their weird encounter with Night's Cavalry. These humanoid enemies wield giant halberds and flails and ride atop dark steeds, guarding important bridges in The Lands Between during the night. The video begins with the user and the Elden Ring boss trying to hit each other when Night's Cavalry suddenly changes direction. At first, it seems the Elden Ring foe is trying to get into a more advantageous position to perform a deadly attack.

However, Night's Cavalry continues moving in the opposite direction to the point where it is nearly outside the fight area of the bridge. The user follows Elden Ring's Night's Cavalry beyond the bridge, when the boss approaches nearby rocks beside a high cliff. As soon as RiyaB1999 is almost within striking distance, the Elden Ring boss jumps off the cliff and dies. This is not the first time an Elden Ring boss has behaved in a peculiar way and likely won't be the last.

Night's Cavalry are among the most common bosses in Elden Ring, with multiple variants in different regions of The Lands Between. Nine Night's Cavalry bosses are scattered across Elden Ring's map, and each drops different rewards upon defeat. The one found in Consecrated Snowfield drops the best items, including the Night's Cavalry Set, Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone, and more than 80,000 runes.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S
