Every game that releases for PC now receives a number of mods. Since releasing in February, Elden Ring players have made a few different mods that alter the experience of the game, including a mod that adds a photo mode to Elden Ring. Now, a mod has been released that hilariously alters the Tree Sentinel.

Elden Ring's Tree Sentinel is one of the first optional bosses that players will encounter. It can be difficult as players run into it early on in the game and will be under-equipped to face it at that point. Despite this, many have managed to defeat the Tree Sentinel when they first encountered it, though with a lot of hard work and luck. While the enemy can be quite daunting, one gamer has changed the boss in a funny way that makes it a little less threatening.

A gamer going by the name of skymoon has released a clip that makes one big change to the Tree Sentinel. In the video, we see that the Tree Sentinel's horse has been changed into Thomas the Tank Engine through a mod. The change makes a big difference, as the boss looks a lot less threatening without the massive steed it normally rides.

At the beginning of the video, the Tree Sentinel can be seen, but it is not clear what it is riding. When skymoon approaches, the back of Thomas can be seen. The player attacks and is greeted with Thomas' face. The gamer proceeds to battle the Tree Sentinel and then summons their horse partway into the fight. This is when we see that skymoon's horse has been modded into Thomas as well, adding to the shenanigans. Some people may find that this is one of the better additions to the game, even after the recent Elden Ring patch.

In the video's comments, fans state that Thomas' main theme should be added to the mod as well, and one even says that they would "die laughing" were that to happen. They also state that Thomas being the Tree Sentinel's horse in Elden Ring is now canon despite what anyone says and that this was what George R. R. Martin really had in mind when helping with the game.

This Elden Ring mod is not the first time that Thomas the Tank Engine has been inserted into a video game. The iconic train was modded into The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim back in 2013 and has since made an appearance in other games such as Monster Hunter World, Cyberpunk 2077, Kingdom Hearts 3, and the Resident Evil series. The character is becoming a fixture in PC games, with Elden Ring just being the latest appearance that he has made.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
