Many players have posed the idea that Elden Ring may be FromSoftware's culminating, crowning achievement. Along with introducing the largest world the studio has ever developed, Elden Ring also features some of the most challenging boss fights in the studio's history, which is a serious claim to make in the case of FromSoftware.

However, the game does make a strong case for this point through its boss fights; bosses like Margit The Fell Omen, Malenia, Blade of Miquella, and even the Grafted Scion and Tree Sentinel have left thousands of player corpses in their wake as they stop players from making further progress. Malenia is such a tough boss fight that one player, Elden Ring's Let Me Solo Her, has made it their mission to take down the boss over and over to help players.

However, while not necessarily extremely challenging fights, the dragon bosses like Elden Ring's Flying Dragon Agheel do pose a unique challenge to players due to their flight, massive size, and equally massive area-of-effect attacks. One of the strongest of these bosses is Dragonlord Placidusax, a secret boss towards the end of the game's story. Recently, one player captured a clip of them executing the boss with a mid-air slice, cutting the dragon down as it strafed by.

The player behind the anime-esque finishing blow was Reddit user Arselien. While seemingly a slow and lumbering boss at first, at half health Elden Ring's Dragonlord Placidusax shows their true power, disappearing into thin air before flying around in a thundercloud and teleporting to attack the player. This transforms the boss from an easy target into an incredibly hard enemy to pin down, let alone land a hit on. However, Arselien managed to cut the boss down in mid-air using Maliketh's Black Blade's weapon art.

Reddit users were in awe of the highlight clip, applauding Arselien on their astounding kill. One player aptly proclaimed that the clip was "some highlight reel sh**." Another player said the clip was so cool that it should have been in one of the game's pre-release trailers. Yet another player asked whether Arselien felt like an absolute bada**, to which they replied they did feel awesome right up until they faced Malenia minutes later.

It is certain that Arselien's highlight moment was nothing less than amazing, showcasing perfect timing as well as cinematic excellence. The only thing that could've made it better would be a sick exit to match; perhaps Arselien could learn from Elden Ring's coolest multiplayer exit in order to further improve their anime skills.

Elden Ring is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
