Elden Ring is the latest RPG from Dark Souls developers FromSoftware. In it, players can explore the Lands Between to discover bosses, secrets, and puzzles. Some of the most useful items for exploring in Elden Ring are the Stonesword Keys, which allow access to locked areas.

Players will often find areas blocked by translucent but impassible mists in Elden Ring, with a small gargoyle statue nearby indicating that the area requires a Stonesword Key to unlock. These sealed areas range in scale from small treasure rooms with valuable loot, to entire dungeons. In order to unlock as many as possible, players will need to find every Key they can in Limgrave, Elden Ring's first region.

The Easy Stonesword Keys in Limgrave

There are three Stonesword Keys in Limgrave that are easier to find than the rest, and players should prioritize grabbing these first.

The first can be found underneath the Dragon-Burnt Ruins, an area to the southwest of the Stranded Graveyard, where players emerge after Elden Ring's tutorial. The Key can be found in the tallest structure in the ruins, which has a doorway on its east side.

The second-easiest Stonesword Key in Limgrave can be found right next to the Stormhill Shack Site of Grace, on a corpse sitting on top of a wooden platform.

The third is found in Stormveil Castle, on top of a ruined tower. To reach it, players should ascend to the top of the Rampart Tower, then jump up onto crenelations using the sandbags beside the sleeping Exile enemy. From there, jump to the nearby tower with the shattered top, and drop down inside to find the Key.

Another Stonesword Key that can be accessed from the Rampart Tower Site of Grace can be found in the hall with the Grafted Scion mini-boss. To reach it, players will need to ascend the tower and make their way across the rooftops to the south, until they reach a wooden platform behind a dining hall.

Follow the platform to reach a ladder, then cross the roof to drop on an Exile armed with a crossbow. Follow the corridor to reach the Stonesword Key on a balcony above the Grafted Scion.

There is another, much more difficult, Stonesword Key in the lowest area of Stormveil Castle, accessible by dropping into the dark chasm to the west of the Liftside Chamber.

Following the chasm, players will encounter a huge boss that guards a corpse holding a Stonesword Key. With sprinting and well-time dodges, it's possible to grab the key and reach a ladder at the back of the boss room without having to fight.

The final Stonesword Key in Limgrave is the hardest to get and actually requires players to spend two other Stonesword Keys to reach it.

To get started, players will need to unlock the Fringefolk Hero's Grave, a dungeon-like area near the Stranded Graveyard Site of Grace. The Grave itself is fairly linear, and if players can survive the traps, they'll find themselves on a platform above the deadly chariot, where a corpse holds the final Stonesword Key in Limgrave.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
