Elden Ring is full of mysteries and puzzles that can be difficult to decipher. Most of the time, players accidentally discover the solutions to these puzzles, though there are hints in-game to guide Tarnished in the right direction. The Statue of Radagon is one of these puzzles - one that, with a little thinking and the right Prayerbook, can be overcome in a matter of minutes.

Players who have reached the Statue of Radagon in Elden Ring are likely versed enough in the story of Goldmask and Corhyn to understand the implications of the puzzle's solution. If you have not progressed their questline to Leyndell yet, and have not talked to Miriel at the Church of Vows, don't solve the Statue of Radagon puzzle as the ultimate reveal will not mean as much without context given in dialogue with these NPCs.

Updated April 30, 2023 by Erik Petrovich: As one of Elden Ring's most enigmatic puzzles, the Radagon Statue Elden Ring players find deep into Leyndell can be a tough egg to crack. There's only one hint nearby, and the Turtle Pope tells players that it's hiding something about Radagon, but to find out what this secret is, one must first find it. This guide has been updated to more clearly indicate directions and where to find the Golden Order Principia Prayerbook, and what exactly players must do to finish the puzzle. After players figure out how to solve the Radagon Statue, they will realize that its implications raise more questions than answers.

Where Is The Statue Of Radagon In Leyndell?

Elden Ring Erdtree Sanctuary

The Statue of Radagon is located relatively deep into Leyndell, Royal Capital, found after defeating the golden shade of Godfrey. From the Erdtree Sanctuary Site of Lost Grace, head down the curving stairs to reach an elevator.

Take the elevator down, fight off a few enemies, and the Tarnished will see a massive Statue of Radagon against the towering wall, T-posing over the Royal Capital. Knowing the location of the statue is one thing - being able to figure out its secret is another. Luckily, the solution is found nearby in the form of the Golden Order Principia Prayerbook.

To get the Golden Order Principia Prayerbook, players must get to the second level of the Erdtree Sanctuary – it can actually be seen from the first level dangling from the ceiling. Head outside from the Erdtree Sanctuary Grace, and hop onto a large vine that extends backward and upward to the second-floor balcony.

Carefully climb up the vine, continue into the interior area, then turn right to go outside again. Immediately jump off the railing to the left – be careful of your footing – and look for a broken window. Simply walk through this broken window to find the Golden Order Prayerbook hanging from the ceiling - from the Site of Grace below, where players fought Godfrey's shade, the Prayerbook can be seen dangling.

"Regression Alone Reveals Secrets" – Radagon Statue Solution

Once acquired, like all Prayerbooks, it must be given to specific NPCs who can teach the player incantations contained within. Give the Prayerbook to Corhyn or Miriel to unlock and learn the Law of Regression Incantation. There are two vague clues at the Statue itself: one in the form of a message that reads "regression alone reveals secrets," and the fact that Radagon is T-posing, the same pose players take when casting Law of Regression. Miriel will also hint that the person who built the statue hid a secret within.

Unlike most Incantations, Law of Regression is based on Int rather than Faith. This is because it's a Golden Order Incantation, which typically rely on Int as much as Faith. Even Golden Order weapons, like the Sword of Night and Flame, require this balance between the two stats. But some Incantations, like Law of Regression, have no Faith requirement at all.

To cast Law of Regression, players must have a Sacred Seal and at least 37 Int. Sorcerers and spellcasters won't have a hard time reaching this number, but melee fighters and Faith users may need to head to Rennala for a quick respec. Once this requirement is met, stand in front of the statue, equip the Seal, and cast the Incantation to learn the secret that the current Elden Lord's sculptor hid. This also progresses Brother Corhyn and Goldmask's quest in its later stages.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
