Elden Ring has remained something of an enigma since its reveal back in 2018, carving out a dedicated fanbase but offering next to no updates on its progress in the time since. The result has been a Reddit community latching on to any hope of a trailer or release date, all the while scouring the internet for leaks. Luckily, it seems a leak has been found.

It appears that six seconds of Elden Ring gameplay have found their way online via 4Chan, as noted by VGC. The footage offers a brief glimpse at the game, albeit a blurry one. The Elden Ring footage appears to be from some sort of internal showcase, offering panning shots of two interiors. The bottom of the footage contains white text reading "CONFIDENTIAL. BNEE INTERNAL USE. BIZ SESSIONS."

The new gameplay footage doesn't offer much regarding Elden Ring details, but it does give fans a better idea of what the game's interiors might entail – assuming it is indeed Elden Ring footage and not a fake, which isn't guaranteed. However, it does boast a similar look to the other footage that fans have seen, which is limited. Specifically, the massive stone-like beings in the footage are distinctly From Software, as is the round interior the footage shows.

A recent investor call gave some insight into the launch window for the game, stating that Elden Ring will release by the end of fiscal year 2021. That window, barring any delays, would mean that Elden Ring will release by March 2022, which is still a while to wait, but could mean that fans start to learn more about the game soon through official channels.

The lack of information about Elden Ring has been a point of contention for fans. The Elden Ring subreddit has become a place for fans to vent their frustration, often by sharing memes, leaks, or anything else tangentially related to the game. It also sees frequent speculation about when the next trailer will drop, so far only leading to a string of disappointment.

Luckily, every day without information is a day closer to a new Elden Ring trailer. The leaked footage looks like it could be part of such a gameplay trailer, possibly even a previously unseen snippet of the trailer that leaked a few months ago. Unfortunately, fans aren't going to really know until From Software confirms new details, though one can hope for new information by the time E3 rolls around. Nothing has been confirmed, but information has to release sooner or later.

Elden Ring is currently in development.
