FromSoftware seems to have won the hearts of millions of gamers worldwide since it managed to develop a sometimes infuriating game that's also a beautiful masterpiece that players can't stop playing. And that's because Elden Ring is filled with unique main characters with fascinating backstories like that of Godwyn The Golden and Starscourge Radahn.

But, even the lesser characters in Elden Ring have amazing stories that players can learn of by completing their related side quest. And Iron Fist Alexander Warrior Jar is one of the few NPCs in Elden Ring that has an interestingly funny side quest that players can complete. But, as with all the other quests in Elden Ring, players will need to follow certain steps to complete Iron Fist Alexander's side quest successfully.

Players that have already defeated Starscourge Radahn can still start Iron Fist Alexander's side quest even if they failed to help him at Limgrave or didn't speak to him after defeating Starscourge Radahn. But, they'll need to start the quest from Liurnia of the Lakes; however, crucial dialog will be missed.

Meeting Iron Fist Alexander in Limgrave

In order to start Iron Fist Alexander's side quest, players will need to rescue him near the Site of Grace "Warmaster's Shack" and then go east of that location and stop right before reaching the Saintsbridge Site of Grace. At that point, players should hear a faint "Hello," which is Iron Fist Alexander calling out for help as he's stuck.

Iron Fist Alexander will then ask the player to hit him a couple of times to free him. Players can either help him or leave him be, but if players want to progress through the side quest, they'll need to help him. Players should also be careful not to hit him with too many heavy attacks since that can potentially kill him, and Celestial Dew cannot revive him.

Once freed, Iron Fist Alexander will reward the player with the Gesture "Triumphant Delight." After which, he'll tell the player that he's heading to the combat festival at Redmane Castle in Caelid.

Players can encounter Iron Fist Alexander inside Gael Tunnel prior to visiting Redmane Castle, but it's not required to progress the quest. But, it does provide a lot more backstory to his character arc, which some players may find interesting.

Defeating Starscourge Radahn at Redmane Castle

Players should now head to Redmane Castle and participate in the combat festival, which involves beating the mighty Starscourge Radahn. As players may know, this fight is among the toughest in Elden Ring, so players should bring along a powerful Spirit Ash to make the fight a little easier.

Once players defeat Starscourge Radahn and unlock the Site of Grace, they'll be able to find Iron Fist Alexander nearby, scavenging the fallen champions. Players should exhaust his dialog, after which he'll move on to Liurnia of the Lakes.

Locating Iron Fist Alexander at Liurnia of the Lakes

Players will need to go to the "Artist's Shack" Site of Grace located northwest of Jarburg (one of the most scenic locations in Liurnia of the Lakes). Players should head southeast from the Artist's Shack until they hear a faint "Hello," as Iron Fist Alexander is stuck once again.

But this time, players will not be able to help by hitting him, as Iron Fist Alexander cracked his body during the Starscourge Radahn boss fight. Instead, players will need to coat Iron Fist Alexander with Oil Pots since hitting him will cause his body to break, thus killing him.

Players can craft Oil Pots after purchasing a Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [17] from Nomadic Merchant at Siofra River.

Once crafted, players should throw one at Iron Fist Alexander and then proceed to hit him. After he's freed, he'll tell the player that he's heading somewhere (Magma Lake) to harden his vessel.

Finding Iron Fist Alexander in Mt. Gelmir

The following location players must travel to is Mt. Gelmir, as Iron Fist Alexander will be found inside Lake Magma, hardening his jar vessel. Mt. Gerlmir is quite tricky to traverse, so players should locate the map fragment of the area before continuing the quest.

Players should then travel towards the "Guest Hall" Site of Grace and venture into the large Magma lake, where they'll need to complete the Volcano Manor quest and defeat the Magma Wyrm.

Once defeated, players can find Iron Fist Alexander behind the Magma Wyrm spawn area. After exhausting his dialog again, he'll mention that he's headed east to fight a giant (AKA The Fire Giant).

Once the player reaches the area where the Fire Giant boss spawns, they'll be able to summon Iron Fist Alexander to aid them in battle. Once defeated, he'll give them some more information about himself before heading off again. But, summoning him for the Fire Giant Boss battle is optional and is not needed to progress the quest.

Fighting Iron Fist Alexander in Crumbling Farum Azula and Quest Completion

Players will need to fast travel to the "Dragon Temple" Site of Grace, located in the Crumbling Farum Azula area. From the Site of Grace, players should head past the well and up to two sets of stairs. After passing a group of undead enemies that players can easily kill by using the underrated Incantation "Mushroom Crown."

After passing them, players will need to walk over an archway and pass a collapsed building. Iron Fist Alexander can be found after that collapsed building on a large open stone field. Iron Fist Alexander will ask the player to challenge him in one final duel to the death, and after accepting, players will need to kill Iron Fist Alexander.

Once players defeat Iron Fist Alexander, he'll tell them some final heartwarming words of encouragement before his vessel shatters. Players will then receive the Shard of Alexander talisman and Alexander's Innards, which players can turn into the Companion Jar talisman. And thus, another memorable NPC dies at the hands of the Tarnished.
