Elden Ring gives users plenty of ways to play with or against others. Like the Dark Souls games, players have to use in-game items to initiate multiplayer. Users can summon other Elden Ring players to help defeat bosses, and they can even challenge others to a duel.

Invading is a big part of the PvP experience in FromSoftware’s games, and Elden Ring is no different. Users will sometimes encounter two players when invading, and it can be challenging to win a two-on-one fight. Stealth is pretty barebones in Elden Ring when playing against the AI, but it can be helpful in similar PvP scenarios. One Elden Ring invader makes excellent use of stealth to kill the host, almost as if they were playing an Assassin’s Creed game.

Redditor UnknownZealot77 shares a video of a PvP encounter in Elden Ring in which they cleverly use stealth to hide from the host. The invader gets summoned to Stormveil Castle and immediately starts crouching. However, the host’s partner sees them and uses a magic attack, causing them to run away. It should be noted that hosts in Elden Ring do not know the invader’s location, while the person invading can see a marker for the host's location on their compass, which disappears when their target is nearby.

The player then travels across rooftops and balconies, similar to the Assassin’s Creed games, and finds a perfect hiding spot in a room with a Site of Grace. The host and their partner run across the room and never notice the invader crouching next to the door. UnknownZealot77 sneaks up behind the host, backstabs them, and the kicking animation causes them to fall to their death. The invader waves as a sign of victory before jumping off the level.

Many users commend UnknownZealot77 for the excellent use of stealth, with special mention to the perfect kick that sends the host off the edge of the area. Some players also make comparisons to the stealth gameplay from the Hitman series. Even though it’s a bit longer than other Elden Ring clips, many users state that it was worth watching till the end.

Some users suggest other mechanics in Elden Ring that can be useful to players interested in taking a stealthy approach to PvP encounters. Equipping the Crepus's Vial talisman or Black Knife Armor will allow players to move quietly. They can also use the Concealing Veil talisman, which will make them invisible to others while crouching. However, this effect only works up to a certain distance.

Elden Ring is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
