Despite some nagging hardware related issues at launch, fans and critics alike have found a lot to love with From Software's latest game, Elden Ring. Unlike previous games in the Souls-series, Elden Ring presents a massive open world to explore, which allows players to tackle things how they want. While past From Software games would essentially lock players into a specific path with a boss that would need to be overcome, if players get stuck in Elden Ring, they can simply go somewhere else and power up.

While that's a big change of pace, players are incentivized to explore the world, with plenty of secrets and loot to be had. Of course, with a game as big as this, there's plenty of items, armor, and weapons to find, many of which can make the game easier thanks to the benefits they provide. This includes rare items like Smithing Stones as well as powerful weapons such as the Grafted Blade Greatsword.

Talismans are another sought after accessory inside Elden Ring as they provide players with beneficial effects, typically related to combat. One such talisman that will aid players on their journey is the Gold Scarab Talisman, though finding it can be tricky for those who don't know where to start looking.

Where to find the Gold Scarab Talisman

Considering how useful the Gold Scarab Talisman is, Elden Ring is going to make players work a bit to find it. Players are going to want to start their search in Caelid which is east of the starting zone of Limgrave. Essentially, players can follow the road northeast out of Summonwater Village Outskirts to eventually reach Caelid.

Once hear, players should head to a location called Abandoned Cave, which can be found east of the Smoldering Wall and south of Deep Siofra Well. At a cliff ledge with a broken tree hanging over a ravine, players will find a cave with a Site of Grace at the entrance. It's advised that players use this as the Abandoned Cave is full of rot, an effect that damages the player over time, which could be a major problem for those exploring the area who are not prepared.

While navigating through the cave, players will eventually come to two Cleanrot Knights field bosses that have to be engaged with at the same time. One carries a sickle, while the other uses a spear and both will give the player 7000 runes after being defeated. In addition, finishing both knights will award the Gold Scarab Talisman.

Gold Scarab Talisman Effects

The big reason why the Gold Scarab Talisman is highly sought after by players is the substantial bonus it provides. When equipped, players will get approximately 20% more runes for defeating enemies. Naturally, this makes the leveling process where players use runes to increase specific character stats like Intellect or Strength much faster and easier. With the rune equipped, players can earn more runes through less kills.

While an optional item, the Gold Scarab Talisman is something that most players are going to want to hunt down this item as soon as they can to maximize the bonus.

Elden Ring is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
