To get the Bloodhound's Step Ash of War, players must travel to the northeast of Caelid. There are two bridges located in the area, one of which is guarded by a dragon. Avoid that bridge and use the eastern bridge. There, tarnished should find a Site of Lost Grace near Lenne's Rise.

For players that haven’t unlocked Caelid yet, progressing in D, Hunter of the Dead’s story quest can be a great help. By showing him a Deathroot, he will mark a Sending Gate that sends the tarnished to the Bestial Sanctum located northeast of Caelid, a few steps away from the bridges.

Night's Cavalry in Elden Ring

From the Site, players must switch time to Nightfall to summon a Night's Cavalry patrolling the bridge. Tarnished must defeat this boss to get the Bloodhound's Step. The fight is not easy. But luckily, there's a way to cheese it.

Initiate the boss fight but don't exchange hits. Instead, move away from the boss while making sure he's trailing behind. Move north, where a few small enemies hide between trees, setting ambushes. This road is filled with poison traps that will launch once Torrent steps on them.

Bloodhound's Step Info In Elden Ring

Bloodhound's Step in Elden Ring

Bloodhound's Step is an Ash of War in Elden Ring. Players can equip the Ash with all melee weapons that take Ash of Wars. It doesn't require any specific stat to be paired with a weapon.

Fans can look at the skill as an enhanced Quickstep. Upon casting, players will move quickly in the direction, disappearing for a very brief moment, making it a great option for dodging. Spamming Bloodhound's Step can create decent distances that rolling and running can't make.

Equipping Bloodhound's Step on a Scythe in Elden Ring

Bloodhound's Step is best used in PVP, where it makes a difference against a standard roll. It is best included in range builds (like Mage or Faith builds), where weapons' skills don't matter as much as spells and keeping distance. The skill will allow these ranged characters to quickly get in and out of combat while consuming a negligible amount of FP.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
