Royal Knight Loretta is a Great Enemy in Elden Ring. Her boss chamber is located in the northern area of Liurnia and can only be accessed via the Caria Manor. Loretta is a powerful knight that wields a Spear and can perform many types of sorcery.
Beating her will grant Tarnished many rewards alongside being able to enter the Three Sisters area. Royal Knight Loretta is the spectral form of Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree. Her physical form is at Miquella's Haligtree. So Elden Ring players will encounter her again while progressing through the Lands Between.
Where To Find Royal Knight Loretta In Elden Ring
In the far north of Liurnia of the Lakes, players must find Caria Manor. It's filled with different types of enemies that use spells and traps. Even the entrance of the manor is guarded by Loretta's sorcery.
Anyone who dares to approach the entrance will be shot with huge glintstone arrows. Luckily, there's a solution. Use the Spirit Horse Torrent to avoid them and ride to the castle's main gate and light the Site of Lost Grace. Before reaching Royal Knight Loretta's boss chamber, players can notice it's heavily guarded by a Giant Troll and Raya Lucarian Sorcerers and soldiers.
How To Beat Royal Knight Loretta In Elden Ring
Loretta has a variety of attacks that may make her intimidating at first. Luckily, her patterns are easily recognizable and can be dodged. Both melee and long-ranged players should use the same strategy, keeping distance.
The boss mostly uses Glintblade Phalanx, which is a Spell that summons five magical blades. In phase two, she’ll summon eight of these magic blades. The animation of summoning them is a bit long, so players can use it as an opportunity to land a few hits.
The Royal Knight also possesses a very strong bow magic hit. Each of its arrows will cause serious damage. When the bow hit animation starts, wait until she releases the arrow, then roll sideways immediately to avoid it.
Other than magic attacks, Loretta wields powerful spear attacks that deal physical damage. Sometimes she’ll slash her weapon horizontally, and at other times the Royal Knight will close the distance between her and the Tarnished to poke them. All her close combat attacks have a decent window to be dodged as long as Tarnished time their rolling and understand her close-range patterns.
Summon Ashes are available in this fight. So calling creatures to fight will immensely help as they'll serve as a distraction. Upgraded Lone Wolf and Skeletal Miltiaman Ashes are highly recommended.
Defeating Royal Knight Loretta will spawn a Site of Lost Grace. Additionally, she rewards Tarnished with 10,000 Runes, Loretta's Greatbow (Spell), and Ash of War: Loretta's Slash.
