There are tons of armor sets for players to uncover in Elden Ring. Although weapons are usually the main event, since they possess some seriously powerful unique abilities, armor is important for protecting Tarnished against the many enemies spread across the Lands Between. Although many of the armor sets are simply stat sticks (in terms of having specific protection stats and weight attributes), developers did a fantastic job in giving players a multitude of armor pieces to create a truly customized character.

Those looking to build the ultimate assassin character in Elden Ring will definitely want an armor set that not only boosts their protection but also makes them look the part. The Black Knife Armor set is the perfect complement to an assassin build thanks to its dark colors, shrouded appearance, and menacing hood. Here's where players can grab the unique and intimidating-looking armor set.

How To Unlock Consecrated Snowfield

Elden Ring Consecrated Snowfields Opening

Unfortunately, the Black Knife Armor Set is locked behind a hidden area, accessible at a point fairly far into the game. Players that are hoping to snag this armor set in the early game will have a very rough time getting to the location since they have to go through at least two difficult bosses to make it there. To unlock the Consecrated Snowfield, players will first need to get their hands on two pieces of the Haligtree Secret Medallion.

Elden Ring Village Of Albinurics

One piece of the Haligtree Secret Medallion is located in the Village of Albinaurics. The town itself is located west of Players will have to progress up and into the town and activate the Site of Grace there. From the Liurnia Lake Shore Site of Grace, players can head directly West and follow the massive rock wall all the way towards the Village of Albinaurics. Players will know they're close when they spot what looks like a massive hole in the mountainside, and it's quite a long journey from the original Site of Grace. From there, they can head up a small path on the side (past some hanging bodies) and past a small well.

There, inside a shack, is another Site of Grace. From that Site of Grace, players want to head up the hillside directly in front of them. There is a Perfumer enemy at the top of the hill that can be absolutely devastating to new players, so caution is advised. If players kill the Perfumer and go to the right past the two abandoned houses ahead, they will find a large pot nearby a wall. Hitting this pot will uncover an NPC that will reward players with half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion.

The other piece of the Haligtree Secret Medallion is located at the top of Castle Sol. Players will have to defeat Commander Niall to get the item.

Heading Through The Consecrated Snowfield

Elden Ring Grand Lift Rold Secret Medallion

Once players have access to both halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion, they'll need to make their way to the Grand Lift of Rold. By standing on the circular platform before the statues, players will have the option to choose which Medallion they hoist up. By hitting the corresponding button to "switch," they'll be able to access the "Secret Medallion" and use it to transport the Grand Lift of Rold to a different location than before.

The path from the starting area is pretty straightforward. Players will want to head inside and go up the large staircase to the left, proceeding through the door and then to the right up another staircase towards a waiting Site of Grace. Proceeding outside from the Site of Grace will put players in the Consecrated Snowfields, a snow-filled area with torrential winds and low visibility. Players should be careful navigating the area as there are many wolves, demi-humans, and other enemies prowling around.

As soon as players step into the Consecrated Snowfields, they'll want to head North. It can be difficult to see the surrounding area, so players should focus on keeping their compass pointed North until they can come out on the other side of the low-visibility area. There are many small cliffs that look as if they drop on forever, but players should be safe to drop down most of them without dying. Once players are far enough North, they should spot what appears to be an abandoned town with magical seals throughout it, similar to Sellia. At the start of the town there is a Site of Grace hidden behind a small wall.

How To Get Black Knife Armor Set In Elden Ring

Standing at the Ordina, Liturgical Town's Site of Grace, players should turn so that they're facing directly West. From there, they can head directly West until they're outside of the town and then hook a right to follow along the town's outer edge, moving counterclockwise. Eventually, they'll spot a large staircase ascending into the sky near the Northern part of the town. There is a corpse underneath a small opening in the staircase that contains the full Black Knife Armor Set.

What Does The Black Knife Armor Set Do?

Elden Ring Black Knife Armor Set On

The Black Knife Armor Set is one of the coolest-looking sets in Elden Ring, and it's perfect for those that are wanting to cosplay as an Assassain or Rogue. That said, the Black Knife Armor Set also has its own unique perk. Similar to the Assassin's Approach incantation or the Crepus's Vial talisman, the armor pieces actually help to muffle a player's movements, making them much harder to hear. Each armor piece has its own level of sound dampening but the Chest Piece has the largest effect. Because of this, players can mix and match the pieces to give themselves varying levels of sound-proofing.
