There are tons of bosses for players to tangle with in Elden Ring, with some of them providing a serious challenge for the Tarnished, regardless of their level. Among these bosses, the dragons that players will encounter stand as some of the toughest foes to take down, thanks to their immense size, barrage of attacks, and outright devastating power. During their journey, players will do battle with a wide array of dragons, including some secret bosses that reward the player with powerful spells and weapons.

A great example is Glintstone Dragon Adula, an imposing creature that players will encounter twice during their quests through the Lands Between. She's a rather tough opponent, and can instantly kill a Tarnished that is unprepared, but the reward for taking her down is well worth it. Here's how players can find Glintstone Dragon Adula in Elden Ring and what happens when they finally manage to take her down.

The first step in dealing with Adula is to start the first encounter with her. As players make their way through Liurnia of the Lakes, they will eventually come to a Legacy Dungeon in the Northwest corner of the map called Caria Manor. Once players make their way through this area and defeat the boss waiting at the end, they will gain access to the Three Sisters, a small sub-area that houses multiple towers, including Ranni's Rise.

Once players make their way towards Ranni's Rise, they will encounter Glintstone Dragon Adula for the first time. By doing battle with her and depleting her health enough, she will eventually disappear by flying away from the area. Adula can then be found waiting in front of the Cathedral of Manus Celes. Unfortunately, this area is inaccessible and only reached by going through Ranni's extensive questline, which will eventually lead players to the Moonlight Altar and give them access to the area high above the Village of Albinaurics. It takes a long time to reach this point, with players having to obtain the Fingerslayer Blade, defeat the Baleful Shadow, and then down a powerful boss in Astel, Naturalborn of the Void. Once players have done all of these things, they'll be able to access the second fight with Glintstone Dragon Adula and finally take her down once and for all. Those that are struggling to complete Ranni's Quest can follow along with the guide here.

How To Beat Glintstone Dragon Adula

Player fighting Glintstone Dragon Adula in Elden Ring.

It's difficult enough to make it through Ranni's questline but actually defeating Glintstone Dragon Adula can be incredibly difficult in its own right. Although she's not as strong as some of the other dragons in the game (like Placidusax), she is still capable of one-shotting players and has quite a bit of health to chip through depending on how leveled the player is when they decide to take her on.

When it comes to strategy, Glintstone Dragon Adula operates very similarly to most other dragons in the game. She has a swipe attack, a tail sweep, can hover in the air, and will slam down on opponents from the sky. Players that have dealt with other dragons shouldn't have much issue dodging these fairly basic attacks. What players really need to watch out for is Adula's Moonblade and her Glintstone projectile attack. Occasionally, Adula will conjure a large greatsword in her maw and sweep down at players, slashing towards them in a horizontal slash. The attack will also send out shards as it finishes. Both of these attacks inflict Frostbite buildup, which can cripple a player that's unprepared.

Her second attack sees the dragon build up her breath and then unleash a barrage of projectiles that will seek out players and track into them. Dodging this attack, as well as the Moonblade sweep, are imperative for players that don't have tons of vigor as they can deal devastating amounts of damage.

Once Glintstone Dragon Adula is defeated, she will drop the Adula's Moonblade sorcery, which allows players to conjure their own greatsword, as well as the frosty projectiles that come with it. This attack can build up solid Frost, helping players to dish out even more damage to enemies.
