Despite how recently Elden Ring released, the game seems to have made quite the impact over the industry. Elden Ring's developer FromSoftware is renowned for making difficult games in fantasy settings such as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and the Dark Souls trilogy. Now, the company has teamed up with fantasy author George R.R. Martin to create a new world that still feels familiar to Dark Souls players.

Elden Ring earned rave reviews, with multiple critics giving the game the highest score available. While some of those reviews may be tainted by users reviewing the game poorly on Steam due to poor PC performance, it's clear from immediate critic and player response that the game is quite the experience. Elden Ring promises the usual difficult combat, though this time it allows for full open-world exploration of its expansive map, and has given the character creation tool seen in Dark Souls and Bloodborne an update.

Character creation is something that plenty of gamers enjoy, especially when a character creation tool can be used to create some hilarious and strange protagonists to traverse through the world of Elden Ring. One Elden Ring player, u/PercyWolfAndrew, decided that their character would be based on the "handsome" version of Shrek seen in Shrek 2, posting their creation to Reddit. Considering Elden Ring's character creation has the option for players to make their characters green, some wondered why the player didn't go all out and make a Shrek character instead.

With some good attention to detail, the Elden Ring player managed to make a decent version of handsome Shrek in the game. The comments of the Reddit post were pointing out the similarities not only with the Elden Ring character and handsome Shrek, but also the fact that the created character looks like another well-known fantasy figure. One comment said that the character looks a bit like a "Chad Jaime Lannister."

Whether the Elden Ring character looks more like Game of Thrones' Jaime Lannister or Shrek 2's handsome Shrek is up to personal opinion. It is impressive though that the Elden Ring character creator has been able to make such strange characters. Gamers have been using character creators to make their favorite characters in game for quite some time, with recent MMORPG Lost Ark seeing a player recreate Omni-man from Invincible in game.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
