At E3 2019, From Software revealed Elden Ring, a forthcoming dark fantasy RPG that was written in collaboration with George R.R. Martin. Since this reveal, a smattering of details have been made available about the title, including the fact that Elden Ring is the largest From Software game to date. Now, it appears that select individuals are set to receive even more information on the game, as Elden Ring will be shown behind closed doors at Gamescom 2019.

This information comes from a report on Bandai Namco's presence at Gamescom, which is set to begin on August 20, and it states that the company will show Elden Ring to the press during the event. Notably, there is no mention of a public presentation of Elden Ring, though it is indicated that Bandi Namco will have nine playable games, including Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows, at its booth.

With respect to what exactly will be shown of Elden Ring at Gamescom, that is not specified. While it is possible that the press will see the very first Elden Ring gameplay, there is also a chance that the presentation will focus exclusively on images and bullet points. Whatever the case may be, it is certain that press members will learn more about the highly anticipated Elden Ring during this showing.

For fans that are champing at the bit for more details on the gameplay and story in Elden Ring, the private nature of this presentation may come as disappointment. Indeed, very little information from this behind-closed-doors showing is likely to be made available to the public, though it is possible that details and images will leak after the Gamescom showing of Elden Ring.

It has been said that Elden Ring will be narratively similar to Dark Souls, which is certain to delight From Software fans that may have had trouble immersing themselves into the story of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Perhaps more clarification on the tale of Elden Ring will be conveyed to the press during Gamescom, and hopefully that information will come to excited fans in the not too distant future

Elden Ring is currently in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
