Fans eager to have another look at Elden Ring may not have to wait longer as a new rumor suggests the game will be at this year's The Game Awards in December.

Discussed on the XboxEra podcast by hosts Sikamikanico and Shpeshal Ed on YouTube, according to a source, Elden Ring will be one of the many game reveals expected at this year's show, finally breaking a long silence since the initial reveal.

The same source indicated that Elden Ring was to be shown at an Xbox event earlier this year, which obviously did not come into fruition. While the thought of seeing the game soon is exciting for FromSoftware fans, they should keep in mind that even the source has stated they are not 100% sure at the moment.

The status of Elden Ring has been long discussed on social media with a lack of new information on the game since its reveal at E3 in 2019. Despite a CG trailer and the reveal of George RR Martin's involvement, nothing of substance has been officially revealed by the developer which has caused fans to express concern for the game throughout the year. FromSoftware has since confirmed on Twitter that the development of Elden Ring is going smoothly and thanked the fans for the support, though not adding any further details.

While fans are chomping at the bit to have another glimpse at the latest FromSoftware title, Xbox head Phil Spencer has revealed in an interview with GameSpot that he recently had the opportunity to play Elden Ring himself. While Spencer did not reveal story details or how it plays, he did say that Elden Ring was one of FromSoftware's most ambitious games to date, adding that he was impressed with the gameplay mechanics and setting.

Elden Ring's presence at the show is not the only rumor circulating around the event, as the long rumored reveal of a new Silent Hill may also appear at The Game AwardsSilent Hill is another game that has been rumored in 2020 to appear at several industry events with no such reveal happening, However, unlike Elden Ring, the existence of Silent Hill has not been confirmed at all.

Whether Elden Ring is present at The Game Awards or not, the show is sure to have some surprises for fans of the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch. Last year Microsoft revealed the name and look of the Xbox Series X at the show, surprising fans with a glimpse of what is now the current generation of gaming.

The Game Awards 2020 airs on December 10, 2020.
