A player shares a clip from a co-op encounter in Elden Ring that showcases a strange glitch that takes the Host of Fingers sliding awkwardly up the Mountaintops of the Giants. The result is a surreal visual that displays exactly how strange the glitches in Elden Ring can be, especially when combined with the odd effects that come from a poor network connection in multiplayer.

Originally posted to the Elden Ring subreddit by Reddit user RancidHummus, the video shows a short clip from their multiplayer experience where several major aspects of gameplay stop working normally. The absurdity of the clip itself has also attracted in comments from viewers who have shared their own similar experiences with Elden Ring's multiplayer, or made comical narratives to explain the strange movements.

As the video starts, it shows the summoned player trying to fight Elden Ring's Fire Giant boss, only to have their attacks appear to have no effect on the enemy's massive health bar. After slashing wildly at the boss, the player then directs their attention towards the host that summoned them in the first place, who can be seen spinning as they travel up the snowy arena. Not only is the host quickly spinning, but their avatar also doesn't appear to be expressing any animations, such as the in-depth walking, running, or attacking movements that usually pull a character across a room.

It's an odd sight that most viewers assume to be caused by a poor multiplayer connection failing to show any of the animations of the host player. This would also explain why the summoned player isn't able to attack the Fire Giant in any meaningful way, as network errors in Elden Ring often makes interacting with the host's world impossible.

Network connection issues can often be frustrating in Elden Ring, especially if a boss fight had otherwise been going well enough before being disconnected. However, sometimes the result of these connection issues can make for their own amount of entertainment, such as the host wildly spinning and climbing awkwardly up the Mountaintops of the Giants. In that case, this clip makes the best out of an unfortunate situation, and shares a hilarious sight that plenty of fans will eventually see when diving into Elden Ring's multiplayer.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
