After an explosive release boasting big sales numbers and great reviews, Elden Ring continues to be a hot topic in the gaming community. Elden Ring's new open-world take on the classic FromSoftware formula coupled with its immersive world and challenging fights make for an incredibly memorable experience.

The game's challenging fights are one of its premiere features as well as one of its greatest strengths. Plenty of clips exist showing players taking on these fights, many of which are hardcore boss battles against some of gaming's toughest enemies. While some of these clips are posted to declare a player's victory over a boss, sometimes the clips are of defeat like a heartbreaking loss to Elden Ring's King Morgott.

These posts of defeat tend to serve two purposes: one, to show the mechanics and difficulty of a boss, and two, to show a hilarious series of events that led to the player's death. The latter of these two leads to comedic clips of players making mistakes that lead to death, such as one Elden Ring player jumping to their death while fighting a dragon. Recently, another clip of this nature surfaced, showcasing a player who got cocky against the Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast and attempted to push the boss off its mountainside. Instead, the player found themselves pulled to their death while the beast lived.

The player in question was Reddit user oldman_reynolds, a player who was attempting to cheese the beast fight by pushing it off. The irony of this statement is immediately noticeable at the clip's beginning, as the beast has a small sliver of health left that oldman could have easily depleted. Instead, assumably as a test, oldman decided to see if the beast could be lured to a hard fall, making the fight easier. Elden Ring's Fallingstar Beast is a challenging boss with a lot of health, further adding to the despair players felt watching oldman's fail.

Reddit users were quick to comment jokes under the clip due to oldman's tragedy, with many pointing out a similarity with a popular movie moment. One user joked that if oldman had just hit the beast, it would've died as quickly as oldman did. Another user said that the beast used an UNO reverse card, instead pulling oldman to their death. Many other users referenced the Balrog from Lord of the Rings, specifically mentioning a scene where the monster pulls a character down into a pit as it falls.

References and jokes aside, the Fallingstar Beast takes a note out of Elden Ring's Starscourge Radahn's playbook, using gravity spells to its advantage. Ironically, no spell was used on oldman_reynolds; instead, gravity itself led to their undoing as the beast safely watched from above.

Elden Ring is available for Playstation 4, Playstation 5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
