Remembrances in Elden Ring are important items that can be used for a variety of purposes. Typically, Remembrances are earned after players defeat one of Elden Ring's major bosses, though there are some that can only be found in out-of-the-way optional areas, too.

The Elden Remembrance is one that every player will someday have in their possession, that is if they plan to see Elden Ring through to the end. Though the rewards for this Remembrance might seem useless at the end of the game, both weapons are incredibly powerful in New Game Plus and PvP. If neither appeals to you, though, there are other options.

Option One: Trade It For Marika's Hammer or The Sacred Relic Sword

There are two weapons players can trade Elden Remembrance for: Marika's Hammer, or the Sacred Relic Sword. Marika's Hammer is the hammer used to shatter the Elden Ring in the first place, and has the same Ash of War that Radagon uses in his boss fight as he smashes the Hammer down repeatedly. The Sacred Relic Sword is somewhat infamous for being the most reliable Rune farming weapon, as its Ash of War is a gigantic AoE attack that can wipe out the Mohgwyn Palace Albinaurics with one use.

To trade in Remembrances for armaments, head to Roundtable Hold and speak with Enia, the Two Fingers Interpreter. At this point in the game, she likely has finally keeled over, but you can still interact with her body to Receive Power From Remembrance.

Option Two: Absorb The Remembrance's Power For 50,000 Runes

If neither Marika's Hammer nor the Sacred Relic Sword seem appealing to you, you can opt to consume the Elden Remembrance for 50,000 Runes. This is no small amount of Runes, but at this point in Elden Ring it's probably barely enough to cover half of a level-up.

While it's perfectly fine to consume most Remembrances in the game if their associated trade-in items don't sound appealing to you, it's a bit of a waste to do that with the Elden Remembrance. The Rune amount is just too small, especially when one considers it's about the same amount as a single use of the Sacred Relic Sword's Ash of War in the Palace Approach Ledge-Road farm in Mohgwyn Palace.

Don't Forget To Duplicate The Remembrance Before New Game+

Whether you want to consume the Elden Remembrance for Runes or get an Armament out of it, there is no doubt that it's one of the best Remembrances to duplicate at a Walking Mausoleum. Doing this lets you get a reward from the item and get a handy chunk of Runes too - it's only not a good idea to consume it for Runes if you haven't got a second copy!

Look for Walking Mausoleums with bells hanging from their bottom, as these are the only ones that can duplicate non-optional Boss Remembrances. The easiest one to find is in the Weeping Peninsula, but there are plenty of others throughout the game if you've already used that one. Just remember to do it before New Game Plus, as Remembrances do not carry over.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
