Elden Ring has its fair share of difficult bosses despite being more approachable and newcomer-friendly. Elden Ring’s late-game areas feature some of the hardest bosses in FromSoftware’s history, but all main story encounters will pose a reasonable challenge to users on their first playthrough.

Dragonlord Placidusax is one of the most intimidating optional bosses in Elden Ring. The fight occurs in a giant arena in Crumbling Farum Azula, but players must perform specific actions to initiate the encounter. He drops the Remembrance of the Dragonlord after defeat, and players can exchange it for either the Dragon King's Cragblade weapon or the Placidusax’s Ruin Incantation. Dragonlord Placidusax is quite challenging, but one fan figured out an easy way to beat him.

A player named honahle has uploaded a video of their fight against Dragonlord Placidusax. They enter the battle equipped with an Envoy's Long Horn weapon obtained from defeating a Large Oracle Envoy. Its unique skill is called Bubble Shower, which releases several bubbles in a wide area in front of the player. Honahle then spams the Bubble Shower weapon art to defeat Dragonlord Placidusax in under 40 seconds. As seen in the video, the bubbles do massive damage to the enemy and even break his poise with relative ease.

Bubble Shower deals even more damage after the poise breaks, and honahle defeats Dragonlord Placidusax without getting hit even once. The player could have finished the job faster if they wore the Envoy Crown helm, which increases the potency of bubble-based skills. Honahle mentions that they have the Envoy Crown in their inventory but forgot about its damage boost, so they didn’t use it in this video.

One user claims that the Bubble Shower skill "melts" them, so it’s only fair that it does the same to a boss. Another fan states that the Envoy's Long Horn is the best weapon against large Elden Ring bosses, and Wing of Astel also seems to be a popular choice. Honahle shares their build and stats, confirming that they had a bit less than 50 Faith and a fully upgraded Envoy's Long Horn.

Many users also discuss the effectiveness of Bubble Shower against the Elden Beast. Some argue that it’s not as helpful due to the Elden Beast’s ability to negate holy damage, but others state that the bubbles are still great for breaking its poise. Some users also recommend using the Mimic Tear Ashes, which summons a copy of the player, to double the bubble count.

Elden Ring is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
