There are loads of unique builds in Elden Ring, and items like the Dragon Communion Seal allow for niche builds to shine. Many powerful dragon-like bosses in Elden Ring drop Dragon Hearts as a reward, and these Dragon Hearts can be traded for special Dragon Communion incantations that are equally powerful and intimidating.

The Dragon Communion Seal is tailored specifically to strengthen these spells, and players will want to track it down. Here’s how to get the item and what it offers relative to other seals.

How to Get Dragon Communion Seal

The Dragon Communion Seal is found in the Fringefolk Hero’s Grave, a dungeon hidden behind an imp statue at the very start of the game. The entrance to the Fringefolk Hero’s Grave is directly next to the Stranded Graveyard Site of Grace and requires two Stonesword Keys to get in.

Entering Fringefolk Hero's Grave

As with other dungeons of the “Hero’s Grave” category, this area is defined by the chariots that run along a fixed set of paths, looking to mow down the Tarnished. This area is a particularly frustrating one for many players, who may encounter this as one of their first challenges. Making matters worse is the fact that new players will find it extremely difficult to actually clear this dungeon, as its final boss, an Ulcerated Tree Spirit, is meant to be taken on by higher-level players.

Players can get the Dragon Communion Seal without challenging the boss, offering early access to the item. They’ll still have to climb a steep hill in order to get the item, however.

To get the Dragon Communion Seal, follow the main path down a pair of slopes until the path narrows. Once the path narrows, there is a left turn followed by a fork. Go to the right and climb the upwards ramp. This leads to a lengthy, winding path full of Exile Soldiers, with the chariot following the whole way. If the player can make it to the end, they are greeted by a ghostly Banished Knight.

When defeated, this Banished Knight drops the Dragon Communion Seal. This opponent will be quite difficult for low-level players, but it is possible to take the win if the player wants to commit to a Dragon Communion build early. If players wait, they can destroy the chariot to make this dungeon easier.

Is the Dragon Communion Seal Good?

The Dragon Communion Seal has unique scaling and attributes that make it very good for Dragon Communion and Frenzied Flame incantations. Most players will want to look toward other seals, however.

The Dragon Communion Seal gives a +15% boost to the special Dragon Communion incantations. These are the spells that become unlocked after defeating dragon bosses like Flying Dragon Agheel and are purchased with Dragon Hearts.

Alongside that, it offers a solid degree scaling with the Arcane stat, something few other seals offer. The high Arcane scaling helps with debuff buildups, making it easier to afflict enemies with status effects like Scarlet Rot and Madness. This is invaluable as most Dragon Communion incantations have Arcane prerequisites and are helpful for Frenzied Flame incantations due to their ability to build up Madness.

The Dragon Communion Seal isn’t as valuable with incantations that aren’t classified as Dragon Communion, and it doesn’t hold up well once players start reaching very high levels of faith. Depending on the player’s build and what incantations they are prioritizing, other seals may be preferable toward the endgame.
