Although there is still no announced release date for Elden Ring, the upcoming action role-playing game being developed by FromSoftware with the collaboration of A Song of Ice and Fire author George R. R. Martin, fans now have yet another reason to impatiently await the game’s launch.

Yuka Kitamura is a renowned composer who has created the haunting and unforgettable scores for the highly successful Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Dark Souls 2 and 3, and Bloodborne. Not much news has been forthcoming from Dark Souls developer FromSoftware since the announcement of Elden Ring at E3 2019. Updates were expected to be made at the Taipei Game Show, but that convention was cancelled over concerns about the coronavirus pandemic currently impacting many facets of everyday life around the world.

In an interview in June 2019, Hidetaka Miyazaki, game director of the Dark Souls series and Elden Ring, stated that the upcoming game would focus more heavily on RPG elements, offering an even wider array of weapons, magic, and character customization. Miyazaki, a professed fan of George R. R. Martin’s Tuf Voyaging series and Fevre Dream as well as A Song of Ice and Fire, stated that the project will be a true collaboration with the author, encompassing many creative conversations around the game’s themes, characters, and the overarching mythos.

Elden Ring will be released on PC, PS4, and Xbox One at an unannounced date.
