With its vast open world, expansive storylines, and bosses that take near-endless attempts to beat, it is no secret that Elden Ring is a large game, one that players can spend countless hours in as they take on the journey to becoming Elden Lord. Even four months after the game initially released, fans are still figuring out new things that can be done in Elden Ring, especially following recent patches that change the way the game is played. Elden Ring's map, for example, received a major change in the most recent update.Even with Elden Ring being an expansive game, it seems that the development team at FromSoftware didn't quite get to implement all of their ideas into the game. From missing quest lines to the ability to make an NPC go to sleep and enter their dreams, there has been quite a lot of cut Elden Ring content uncovered by fans over the months following the game's release. Now, an Elden Ring player has discovered a new lot of cut content, featuring a quest that revolves around a well-known NPC.RELATED: Elden Ring Update 1.05 Makes Secret Quality of Life ChangeVyke, the NPC in question, will be familiar to the majority of Elden Ring fans, due to the fact that he's featured in the game's cover art. Players can also gain Vyke's war spear in Elden Ring, which is one of the few weapons that builds madness with each attack. Vyke is a boss in the game, but from recently discovered cut content, it seems that he would have had his own quest line that could've resulted in the knight being summoned to help the player fight a boss.

Sekiro Dubi, the player that discovered the cut content, did not find any audio or dialogue linked to the Vyke quest, but they believe it once existed due to cut dialogue from Gostoc, who awaits the player at the start of Stormveil Castle in Elden Ring. Gostoc describes a "repulsive looking knight" wearing armor "melting inwards," essentially pointing to Vyke. Three rewards are linked to the end of the quest, but the names of these have been cut. According to speculation, Vyke would have appeared as a summon somewhere in Stormveil Castle, meaning he might have helped the player fight a multitude of bosses, with Godrick being the most obvious choice. However, a character model for Godfrey was linked to Stormveil as well.

The cut quests for Vyke could have helped flesh out the lore of the character on Elden Ring's cover, yet it is unknown whether this content will ever see the light of day or how much of the original quest line is left. It is possible that some of the game's cut content could arrive in DLC for Elden Ring, but fans will only get a glimpse of what that will look like when it is revealed by FromSoftware.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
