The user shared a short video showing their face-off with the challenging Elden Ring boss and how they used a high intelligence build to get the better of him. The video begins with the user traversing through the mist, a customary ritual before every Elden Ring boss fight, and applying the Terra Magica buff.
Next, Khomuna doesn't waste much time and starts bombarding Commander Niall with another magic-based attack, Comet Azur. Commander Niall is completely overwhelmed by these sorceries as he is unable to land a single hit and falls only in a matter of seconds. Unsurprisingly, the Reddit community applauded the original poster's presence of mind and knowledge of different spells to ensure a stacking effect. The post received more than 3,000 upvotes and hundreds of encouraging comments. Some users also pointed out that the static nature of Commander Niall is partly responsible for his downfall using this technique.
Comet Azur and Terra Magica are two of the most popular sorceries in Elden Ring as they complement one another brilliantly. Terra Magica creates a magical sphere around the player and increases the magic damage by 35 %, while Comet Azur makes a giant comet that can be used as a highly effective ranged weapon. The initial Terra Magica buff increased the intensity of the Comet Azur sorcery significantly, facilitating the easy demise of Commander Niall.
It is not the first time Elden Ring players have discovered a way to cheese Commander Niall. Not long ago, another Reddit user found a way to defeat Commander Niall from a distance by repeatedly firing precise arrows in a tiny hole in Castle Sol.
