An Elden Ring trick lets players dodge Commander Niall's charge attack. One of the optional human bosses in Elden Ring is Commander Niall, who commands an army of defeated knights previously held prisoner. Despite this Commander's status, One player was able to exploit a previously unknown weakness.

Elden Ring is a game full of surprises, as many players have been able to point out interesting things about its lore and open world, like details on Elden Ring’s gravity magic, and hidden dialogue options that unlock secret paths. However, one player was able to figure out a tactic that could aid in combat regarding this specific boss.

DaddyWhoGames posted a video to Reddit that displays a specific way to dodge Commander Niall’s charge attack. The video shows the player starting the battle by using long range projectiles and then performs a perfect dodge during the boss’s charge attack that allows the player to get behind Commander Niall. Like all of FromSoftware’s video games, Elden Ring is a game of trial and error, where players will have to figure out an enemy’s pattern in order to succeed in battle, rather than panicking and mashing buttons. This is not the only strategy, as other players continuously find new ways to defeat Commander Niall, such as summoning swarms of mimics in Elden Ring to do the fighting for them, or even continuously shooting Commander Niall with fire arrows from outside the arena.

One viewer asked what weapon upgrades are recommended, which the user responded by suggesting whatever the highest level of stones are. However, for players that just want to make their way to the boss as quickly as possible, there is a way to skip Castle Sol to make it to Commander Niall with minimum effort. Elden Ring is a tough game that offers difficult challenges for players in its unforgiving open world, so players will need all the help they can get. Fortunately, Elden Ring is designed well enough to offer a multitude of tricks and shortcuts to players that are willing to go off the beaten path.

Perhaps the most impressive feat so far is a player that beat Elden Ring only using their fists, suggesting that anything is possible despite the game's difficulty level. There will surely be more surprises thanks to the active community that always finds something new to share, even when some players think that nothing else can be discovered in the game.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
