After years of being one of the most anticipated games, Elden Ring seems to have lived up to the massive hype behind it. With an absolutely explosive launch followed quickly by patches regarding performance and optimization, many players consider Elden Ring a Game of the Year nominee already.

With early completions suggesting it may take 100 hours or more to complete Elden Ring, it is clear the game is filled to the brim with a massive amount of content. What's more notable is that said content is almost entirely unique, with only the catacomb dungeons looking similar in any way. This makes for a long, satisfying foray into an open world that constantly rewards the player for exploration.

As shown in the complete Elden Ring guide, the unbelievable amount of content allows for an insanely long playthrough, but many players have still completed the game already. Though many players are satisfied with the game so far, there are still some already looking towards the future of the game. Players are questioning when new DLC will be released, as well as what that may entail. While DLC is surely months away at least, one player thinks that an already existing location may be a part of future DLC.

The player, renowned Soulsborne YouTuber Lance McDonald, used some programming trickery to gain access to a colosseum area located in Limgrave. This area can be found fairly early by players, but there seems to be no way to access it. While many thought it could just be a filler structure, McDonald knew better and decided to detach his camera; this allowed him to see inside the colosseum. What he discovered was an arena with three entrances, two of which had elevators. Many players inferred this could be a future area for 1v1 PVP, allowing players to fight without invading.

With the Elden Ring PVP meta already taking shape as more and more players finish the game, a DLC that adds arena dueling would be an incredible addition. Though many Dark Souls 3 players preferred invasions over the dueling mode introduced in Ashes of Ariandel, the existence of the mode allowed for more honorable and straightforward PVP in contrast to the potential 1v3 or all-out brawl scenarios that could occur with invasions.

Conversely, there is also a small chance that the colosseum can be unlocked in some undiscovered way. With FromSoftware hiding optional Elden Ring bosses throughout the open world, the idea that the colosseum could eventually be unlocked somehow is not entirely out of the question. However, due to Lance McDonald's camera work, it looks as though much of the colosseum interior is unfinished, so perhaps players will have to look towards the future to unlock the structure's secrets.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
