An Elden Ring clip shows why players must pay attention to the stamina bar. Elden Ring's combat is one of its praiseworthy features, but it does have a learning curve, as newcomers to Soulslike games often struggle. However, Elden Ring's combat feels like a delight when players get the hang of it. Gamers can wield a weapon in each arm, dual wield the same armament, or two-hand a single weapon, leading to endless possibilities.

Irrespective of the weapon, the most critical aspect of Elden Ring's combat is the stamina bar, which directly influences a player's choices and abilities in a fight. Most people focus on leveling up the Vigor and Mind attributes, which increase HP and FP, respectively. Such gamers make the mistake of ignoring the stamina bar and often learn it the hard way. Reddit user brom10 seems to be one such Elden Ring player who now rethinks their opinion of the stamina bar.

Reddit user brom10 shared their experience through a video showing their boss fight with Hoarah Loux, the second phase of Godfrey - The First Elden Lord. The fight begins with the Elden Ring boss having roughly 30% health, but the user also has low HP. At first glance, it seems that brom10 has the upper hand as they land multiple successful hits. But they didn't notice each attack, and dodge was causing their stamina bar to deplete rapidly, which ultimately backfired. The player failed to dodge an oncoming attack, causing Hoarah Loux to connect and one-shot them.

It should also be noted that brom10 was out of Flask of Crimson Tears, so they couldn't refill their HP to get an advantage. Regardless, this video is a lesson to Elden Ring gamers who neglect Endurance in favor of other attributes. Meanwhile, leveling up attributes is a key element of Elden Ring as it ultimately shapes a character and their strengths and weaknesses. For instance, gamers who spend runes on leveling up Endurance might miss out on some spells, incantations, or a few weapons. But they will be able to wield heavier armaments and armor and last longer in combat. Moreover, gamers with more stamina can dodge and attack more times than others, raising their odds in an Elden Ring boss fight.

In addition, the stamina bar is equally essential in Elden Ring's PvP mode, as the core mechanics are identical. However, there's still no consensus on the correct level of Endurance in Elden Ring. While some fans say 25 is optimum, others disagree and believe players must have at least 30 Endurance.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
