Elden Ring is approaching its two months since release and during this time fans have not stopped discovering new and creative ways to take on the legendary foes waiting in the Lands Between. The latest, and perhaps funniest, Elden Ring playthrough comes from a player who beat the game using nothing but his butt, or the Ground Slam Ash of War, to be more precise.

The player in question is none other than streamer Distortion2, who has been setting several records in the Elden Ring community. The streamer has become quite an accomplished speedrunner, completing Elden Ring in sub 10-minute times and only getting better. Not only has Distortion2 led the way for the speedrunning community, but the streamer has also posted videos accomplishing various feats in Elden Ring, such as a level 1 player fight against Malenia and All Main Bosses speedruns clocking in at under two hours.

Distortion2’s recent Elden Ring playthrough utilizing a butt-based build is only the latest in the streamer’s feats. Using the Ash of War: Ground Slam, Distortion2 set out to complete the game using the butt slam as his only offensive tool. At just over two hours in length, players can witness all the glory in Distortion2’s gluteal conquest as he takes on the game’s most menacing bosses, from Starscourge Radahn to the infamous Malenia, Blade of Miquella. This playthrough was an extension of Distortion2’s All Main Bosses runs, as only the Remembrance bosses would have to be defeated with the Ground Slam for it to count. However, the streamer has also shown interest in doing a butt-only speedrun of the game, which would surely be a sight to see.

As entertaining as Distortion2’s butt build playthrough is, it is also an immensely impressive achievement. Elden Ring fans will be quick to notice how long the wind-up animations for this move are and the precise timing it takes to pull off this move safely. Players wishing to undertake their own butt-only Elden Ring playthrough can do so by finding the Ash of War: Ground Slam which can be found early on in the game in the Mistwood area. This Ash of War can thankfully be applied to every weapon type in the game as long as it is not a special weapon. In Distortion2’s case, he applied it to a starting spear which carried him through to the end of the playthrough.

Fans of Elden Ring continue to discover the game’s various mysteries and are constantly finding new ways to play the game. With so many options at the player's disposal, it makes sense why Elden Ring is loved by so many. Hardcore fans could do a playthrough as a level 1 wretch, or maybe try a butt-only build which, as discovered, is surprisingly viable. How fans manage to beat Elden Ring is up to their imagination. With any luck, there could be a steering wheel, butt-slam only playthrough on the internet soon enough.

Elden RIng is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
