There are an abundance of sorceries to pick from in Elden Ring. From Software did a great job giving players access to a multitude of spells that fit all playstyles, giving even Strength and Dexterity players a chance to use magic to their advantage. There are even sorceries that can help apply status effects to enemies, something that has helped players conquer some of the most imposing bosses found across the Lands Between.

Those that have a hard time chipping away at foes with massive health bars and stout defense can make use of status effects like Frostbite and Hemorrhage. The latter can be especially brutal, as once it stacks high enough it will proc a Bleed that does a massive amount of damage to even the most defensive of foes. Even mages and magic-inclined players can stack Hemorrhage thanks to a variety of weapons and spells. One, the Briars of Sin, is especially good at keeping foes away thanks to its AOE Bleed capabilities. Here's how players can snag the Briars of Sin for themselves in Elden Ring.

Where To Find Briars Of Sin In Elden Ring

Elden Ring Briars Of Sin Location

Those looking to get their hands on the Briars of Sin will need to head to a particular part of Liurnia of the Lakes and do battle with a specific enemy. To get there, players can head North of the Artist's Shack Site Of Grace, across the rock bridge and then directly Northwest. There, they will spot a group of Burning Slugs. Nearby these slugs is a Thorn-Fire Sorcerer. Once players take down the Sorcerer, they'll be able to retrieve the Briars of Sin Sorcery.

This area is accessible early in the game, and players can rush here by skipping Stormveil Castle via an alternate root and heading to the Lake-Facing Cliffs Site of Grace. Once there, they can head to the cliffside to the Northeast and look downward to see a series of Tombstones jutting from the wall. By carefully leaping down these with Torrent, players can access the roadway that heads to the North, where they will eventually find the Artist's Shack Site of Grace.

What Does The Briars Of Sin Sorcery Do?

Elden Ring Briars Of Sin Stats

The Briars of Sin is classified as a sorcery, but it requires a hefty amount of Faith for players to gain access to it. It takes 24 Faith to equip the spell and requires one Memory Slot to use. It consumes a low amount of FP at only 9 FP per cast, but it is important to note that it will siphon a portion of the player's health to use as a catalyst. It's capable of being cast in a chain so long as the user has applicable HP and Mana.

When used, Briars of Sin will create a whirling AOE of blood that will strike nearby enemies and apply stacks of Hemmorhage onto them. It also deals magic damage. It is possible to increase the amount of buildup, as its tied to the Arcane stat, meaning players can increase the buildup amount if they're using an Arcane-scaling staff.
