Bewitching Branches are interesting items in Elden Ring that can be used to charm foes, turning them into a player's ally temporarily. While these consumable items do not work on absolutely every enemy in the game, they can still be useful, particularly when fighting Commander Niall. For those players that would like to try out Elden Ring's Bewitching Branches for themselves, details on several ways to obtain them can be found in this guide.
To note, it is possible to receive one Bewitching Branch as a keepsake when creating a new Elden Ring character. Additionally, one of these items can be looted from a corpse just northwest of the Church of Pilgrimage in Weeping Peninsula. These two Bewitching Branches will not last for very long, but they are being mentioned here for the sake of completeness.
Elden Ring: How to Get Bewitching Branches
Purchase
Five Bewitching Branches can be purchased from a merchant in Elden Ring that is situated just north of Bellum Church in Liurnia. The precise position of this NPC has been marked on the map that is above, and the branches that they sell cost 1,600 Runes. If a player is still in need of Bewitching Branches after buying these five, then they should continue to the next section, which will describe how to craft these consumables.
Craft
In order to craft Bewitching Branches, fans must get their hands on Fevor's Cookbook [3]. This book can be obtained by speaking with Gideon Ofnir in Roundtable Hold after visiting the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum in Mohgwyn Palace. Here are details on two ways to get to Mohgwyn Palace in Elden Ring, and players should work their way through the area and to the Mausoleum regardless of the method that they use:
- Complete White Mask Varre's questline in Elden Ring.
- Assemble Elden Ring's Haligtree Secret Medallion, ride the Grand Lift of Rold to the Consecrated Snowfield, and use the portal that is at the location on this map.
After receiving Fevor's Cookbook [3] from Gideon, players will be able to craft Bewitching Branches by combining Sacramental Buds and Miquella's Lilies. The Church of the Plague in Caelid and the Writheblood Ruins in Altus Plateau are good locations for obtaining Sacramental Buds, while Miquella's Lilies can be found around Sellia, Town of Sorcery and Dragonbarrow in Caelid and beyond. Fans should not need to put too much effort toward farming these materials, though, as it is not extremely rare to encounter them.
Elden Ring is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
