There are numerous endings to Elden Ring, and a player's actions throughout the game will determine which one they see. While getting the default ending is a fairly straightforward process, fans will need to put in some additional effort in order to access the game's alternate conclusions. This guide contains a full breakdown of how all of this works, and it will help players see every one of Elden Ring's endings.

To note, this guide will attempt to remain as spoiler-free as possible. This means that it will not clarify the content of each conclusion, and links will be used to point Elden Ring players toward details on optional questlines that must be completed for certain endings. That said, it is not possible to fully avoid spoilers here, and fans that are concerned about such things should proceed with caution.

Elden Lord Endings

There are four variations of the Elden Lord ending in Elden Ring. Here are the requirements for unlocking each of these variations, and players that do not engage with any of the game's optional content should expect to see the first one.

  • Age of Fracture: Follow the game's critical path and opt to "mend the Elden Ring" after defeating the final boss.
  • Age of Duskborn: Complete Fia's questline in Elden Ring to obtain the Mending Rune of the Death-Prince, and choose to use that rune after defeating the final boss.
  • Age of Order: Complete Goldmask and Brother Cohryn's questline in Elden Ring to obtain the Mending Rune of Perfect Order, and choose to use that rune after defeating the final boss.
  • Blessing of Despair: Complete Dung Eater's questline in Elden Ring, feeding him Seedbed Curses until the Mending Rune of the Fell Curse is obtained. Then choose to use that rune after defeating the final boss.

Lord of the Frenzied Flame Ending

This ending is earned by meeting the Three Fingers in the Subterranean Shunning Grounds below Leyndell, Royal Capital and choosing to become the Lord of the Frenzied Flame after defeating the final boss. To reach the Three Fingers, players can follow Hyetta's questline in Elden Ring, as it leads directly to it.

Notably, players that meet the Three Fingers will be unable to access any of the game's other endings unless they obtain Miquella's Needle and take it to Dragonlord Placidusax in Crumbling Farum Azula. This is a fairly involved process, which requires fans to complete Millicent's questline in Elden Ring and defeat the boss at Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree.

Age of the Stars Ending

The last ending is earned by completing Ranni's questline in Elden Ring and interacting with the special summon sign that appears after defeating the final boss. Without question, this is the most complicated conclusion to obtain, as the associated quest is quite convoluted. That said, players that are interested in exploring all secret areas and seeing everything that the game has to offer should definitely consider going for the Age of the Stars ending.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
