More speculation fills the air as the Canada-based studio Eidos Montreal has posted listings for jobs that may be for a new Deus Ex game, hinting at a possible co-op entry. For many years, job listings have been able to give people possible news as to any new games being developed by the respective company, with Bandai Namco seemingly confirming the next Little Nightmares entry through one, for instance. While they can't always say what the job listing is for, it's rather easy to infer what they will be used for through what is in the description, with this recent Eidos Montreal one hinting at something for the Deus Ex franchise.

Deus Ex is a series that, while beloved by many, has been marred with troubling development throughout its run. Starting in 2000 as an action role-playing game with stealth elements, it went on to be a heavy success for Ion Storm Austin, only to be followed up by a less-than-stellar sequel, Deus Ex: Invisible War. Then, later on, it was reborn under Square Enix with Eidos Montreal making Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, before once again falling into the shadows. Many are clamoring for a new entry, with even the voice actor for Adam Jensen himself wanting to reprise the role despite having to deny Deus Ex sequel rumors.

However, it seems with recent job listings, the Deus Ex series may be making a return. Several job listings were put up at relatively the same time, with the most prominent being that for a Senior Game Designer, specifically for enemies, their AI, as well as encounters and combat. While most of the listing describes the basic things a Senior Game Designer should know, it also lists a preference for an individual who "Has worked on COOP games," confirming that one of Eidos Montreal's next games will at least allow for some form of co-op.

Other listings posted around the same time include mentions of VR and Unreal Engine 5. While there is no confirmation than any of this is for the next Deus Ex game reported to be in early development at Eidos Montreal, it does at least paint a picture of what's in the developer's future.

There is not much information relating to the next Deus Ex game besides that it may take place in South Asia. The last entry, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, was well-received by many, but it did have its faults. Whatever comes next for the series, it has many followers waiting with bated breath for the next bit of news. With only speculation, there's not much to go on, but hopefully there is something to be confirmed, sooner rather than later.
