The Four Shining Stars are the centerpiece to the Eden Zero battleship’s optimal functioning. Without the power of all four Shining Stars, the ship will never be able to reach its former glory, reduced to being only a husk of its former self. The Four Shining Stars are androids created by the previous Demon King Ziggy, tasked with ensuring the survival of Edens Zero.
While each Shining Star possesses considerable power even in their base form, the true combat prowess is locked behind a Battle Dress. These Battle Dresses can be re-equipped in battle, preparing each android for head-on combat. Valkyrie’s Battle Dress had already been revealed in Season 1, with the rest of the Shining Stars now utilizing their Battle Dresses for the first time against Drakken Joe’s Element 4.
The Shield of Edens
Witch was the first of the Four Shining Stars to have her Battle Dress revealed. Her Battle Dress takes on the form of a full-body iron suit, shaped to perfectly fit her physique. Based on her all-metal Battle Dress, Witch has been dubbed as ‘the Steel Sorceress,’ reflecting not just her choice of clothing but also her powers of utilizing ether just like magic.
Witch's Battle Dress is called ‘Assault Witch,’ improving her range of mobility and allowing her to fight with ease. While the Four Shining Stars can certainly fight without their Battle Dresses, it is implied that these are necessary for them to fight at their full capacity. In Witch’s case, her Battle Dress doesn’t seem to offer much other than increased mobility in combat, though it's likely other aspects of Assault Witch may be revealed later on in the series.
The Life of Edens
Sister’s Battle Dress reflects both her domineering personality and her role as the Life of Edens Zero. While Sister possesses many combat attires, her signature Battle Dress features a light-colored uniform with angelic wings on the back, reflective of her role as a healer and the lifeline of the entire ship. A pattern of hearts is visible on her sleeves, although that is the only aspect of her dress that is incongruous with the rest of her aesthetic.
Her Battle Dress currently remains unnamed, which is understandable considering it's only been used once in the series. The revealing aspect of her Battle Dress is synonymous with her self-proclaimed role as a dominatrix, as she tortures her foes with utmost pleasure and passion. Her Battle Dress may not offer any sort of power boost, yet simply donning it makes Sister seem like a fearsome opponent, and rightfully so as it truly brings out her domineering side.
The Mind of Edens
Being the Mind of Edens, Hermit’s role isn’t exactly that of a fighter as her expertise lies in supporting the rest of the crew with her skilled programming capabilities. Therefore, Hermit’s Battle Dress is not designed for direct combat, though it can certainly aid her in fighting if it were to come down to it. The only major aesthetic change to Hermit’s overall attire is the addition of cybernetic rabbit-like ears.
Hermit’s Battle Dress also remains unnamed for now since it has only been utilized once, and that too with limited screen time. Her hacking capabilities and other abilities also seem to remain unaffected by the dress, though it's likely the series might expand on this concept and showcase the true extent of each Battle Dress.
The Sword of Edens
Valkyrie’s Battle Dress was revealed during the flashback of her death in Season 1 of the series, where she laid down her life to protect the people of planet Sun Jewel’s labor camp. Her Battle Dress is called the ‘Valkyrie Armament System,’ and it transforms parts of her body instead of changing her complete attire. Once she re-equips, her entire mainframe changes as Ether begins to surge through her body. The upper right side of her face turns black her back reframes itself into two wing-like ports.
Valkyrie’s Battle Dress is the only one that seemed to have aided her fighting tremendously, allowing her to manifest hundreds of swords to fight off the invading creatures. Valkyrie’s Battle Dress re-equip was a reflection of her place in the Four Shining Stars of Edens Zero. After her death, however, the title of Sword of Edens was passed on to Homura Kogetsu, Valkyrie’s prodigy. While Homura may not possess a Battle Dress like the other Shining Stars, she mimics them by changing her attire through Wiesz’s app, donning the Warrior Maid Battle Dress. The dress aids her in battle and doubles as a stunning improvement in aesthetics, cementing her place as one of the Four Shining Stars.
