Through the sea of indie-developed titles, games such as Eastward can stand out above the rest for a variety of reasons. Eastward is heavily inspired by Zelda titles from the good old days but still has plenty of unique features that breathe new life into the genre.

One cool feature in the game is the RPG mini-game within Eastward that players can play when they want to take a break from the main missions. The mini-game, titled Earth Born, is a fun RPG game built in the classic turn-based game style that can be accessed on arcade machines across the game world.

Surprisingly enough, Earth Born has quite a lot of depth for a mini-game, and some players might be confused by the many different aspects. So for Eastward fans excited to try their hands on this expansive mini-game, here are all the facts that need to be known.

Earth Born Console Locations

When players first get to Potcrock Isle in the story, they will be introduced to the Earth Born arcade machine. After that, there will be a single arcade machine in every main area of the game.

The main goal of the mini-game is to defeat the Demon King before the seven-day time limit runs out. If the timer runs out or the players die, they will have to start over from the beginning. Luckily, some things will be carried over from each run.

Battle System

In the beginning, players start out with only the knight party member and three allies. Luckily, others can be unlocked from finding them in different areas such as the Plains, Sea, Mountain, and Desert. The other party members consist of the Priest, Monk, Mage, and the Hunter.

Just like older Final Fantasy games, players will have the option to hit enemies with regular attacks or use AP for special abilities that have limited use but can be regained over time. Fans should know that each character's attack changes with each new run, so their use could vary depending on the situation.

Earth Born Inns

Inns act as a home base for players and have different useful features, including:

  • Shop: Players can buy valuable items from the Merchant.
  • Equip: Apply bought equipment from the Merchant onto party members.
  • Tavern: Players can adjust their party composition and store excess members, with the max being four.
  • Massage: A free healing center for party members, just like Pokemon Centers.
  • Revive: Fully revives any downed party members.

Bird Statues

Bird Statues are essentially the fast travel system in the game, and making good use of them will be crucial for cutting time out of the deadline. Once they are first activated, they are free to use as often as players need. And even if they die or don't beat the deadline, they can still be accessed in the new run.

Pixball Machines
