EA Sports has officially announced EA Sports UFC 4, confirming its release date, new gameplay features, and much more. Part of the EA Sports UFC 4 reveal was the confirmation of a variety of different fighters that will be a part of the game's roster, which includes some guest fighters and an MMA legend.

So far, EA Sports UFC 4 has confirmed two modern day UFC stars to be the new game's cover athletes in the form of Israel "The Last Stylebender" Adesanya, current UFC Middleweight Champion, and Jorge "Gamebred" Masvidal. Those that pre-order will also be able to add boxing greats Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury to their EA Sports UFC 4 roster, and those that purchase the game through the tile found in EA Sports UFC 2 or 3 will also get access to Bruce Lee. At the time of this writing, it's unclear if there will be a more straightforward way to get Bruce Lee in the game or not.

The EA Sports UFC 4 reveal trailer has confirmed even more fighters for the roster than the ones who were specifically mentioned by EA. This includes Ben Askren, Brad Tavares, Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier, Dustin Poirier, Francis Ngannou, Jacare Souza, Joanna Jerdrzejczyk, Jose Aldo, Kelvin Gastelum, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Nate Diaz, Rose Namajunas, Valentina Shevchenko, Weili Zhang, and Yoel Romero. EA has said that more fighters will be revealed at a later date, with the final game reportedly having more than 200 fighters total.

While the main draw may be able to play EA Sports UFC 4 as some of the sport's top stars, the game will also feature extensive character customization, just like in past titles. Players will be able to take their created fighter through a revamped Career Mode that starts off with some backyard MMA fighting and eventually sees players climb to the top of the UFC itself. This story mode-like quality is in line with other EA Sports products of recent years.

The EA Sports UFC 4 release date is August 14, so fans can expect EA to reveal the rest of the roster sooner rather than later. UFC fans should keep an eye out for more EA Sports UFC 4 announcements in the weeks to come.
