As expected, EA Sports officially announced EA Sports UFC 4, showing off the game with an action-packed trailer that confirmed its August 14 release date and much more. With the EA Sports UFC 4 reveal, EA Sports focused mainly on the new content that is coming in the game, but fans of the franchise have taken note of two significant omissions as well. It's been confirmed that EA Sports UFC 4 won't have commentator Joe Rogan or the popular Ultimate Team feature.

Ultimate Team is a major feature in the vast majority of games from EA Sports, but EA Sports UFC 4 won't have it any capacity. Instead of dedicating time to cater to the small number of people who were using Ultimate Team in past EA Sports UFC games, the developers instead decided to focus those resources elsewhere in hopes that it will help the game reach a broader audience than previous entries have been able to do. Furthermore, the developers believe that Ultimate Team doesn't really make sense in a video game about a 1v1 combat sport.

As far as Joe Rogan goes, the controversial commentator and podcast host was removed from the EA Sports UFC 4 commentary team because Rogan apparently doesn't like doing voice work for video games. Even though Rogan still provides commentary for UFC fights in real life, he will be replaced by Daniel Cormier instead. Considering his absence from the commentary booth, it's unlikely that Rogan will be a playable character in EA Sports UFC 4 like he was in previous games either.

Despite these omissions, it looks like EA Sports UFC 4 has been well-received by MMA fans. Many have reacted enthusiastically to some of the new features shown in the EA Sports UFC 4 reveal trailer, like the backyard fighting, not to mention its impressive roster of over 200 fighters.

EA Sports has yet to reveal the vast majority of playable fighters that will be featured in EA Sports UFC 4, but we do know that the game will include some surprising guest stars. Alongside MMA legend Bruce Lee are the likes of boxing greats Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, who could go a long way in getting even more people interested in the game.

UFC fans only have a month to wait before they can see if EA Sports UFC 4 lives up to the hype.
