Update 2/27: EA has confirmed that all of its services have been restored.

Original story follows.

The Electronic Arts serves went down on the morning of February 27. This server outage is impacting EA's website, the EA Origin game launcher, and the company's various online game services. This means that right now, fans are unable to play some of the most popular games in the world, like Apex Legends from Respawn Entertainment and the FIFA sports games.

Electronic Arts is aware of its server outage and has acknowledged it on Twitter. EA says that it is currently investigating the problem and will provide updates as soon as they're available. Similar statements can be found across EA's social media accounts, so it appears to be a fairly widespread issue. However, it's unclear if literally every player is impacted, or if some are still able to access EA's online game services.

This isn't the first time that the EA servers have gone down in the month of February. Back on February 18, EA servers were down for quite a few hours, with players unable to play any EA games online. EA stopped short of revealing exactly what caused the problem, and it's unlikely to reveal the source behind this latest outage either. However, fans can count on the EA Help Twitter page and other EA social media pages making an announcement as soon as the servers are restored for everyone.

Something that can likely be ruled out as causing the EA servers to be down is overload. EA has not launched any major new games recently, and there are no big in-game events that recently started either. Regardless of what has caused the issues, though, hopefully a fix comes sooner rather than later so fans of EA's games can jump back in as soon as possible.

EA's online service games remain a huge part of its business strategy, with titles like FIFA and Apex Legends leveraging the live service model to huge profits. FIFA in particular is a big moneymaker for EA, and people being unable to access FIFA's online servers is definitely going to cost the publisher some money. Considering this, one has to imagine that EA is working as hard as possible to get the servers back up in a timely manner.

We will update this post when EA's servers have been restored.
