BioWare's Mass Effect Trilogy is well-regarded as one of gaming's biggest and best series. Even after the controversies surrounding Mass Effect 3's ending and Mass Effect: Andromeda, Mass Effect 4 is easily one of the most highly anticipated releases of the next several years. It's only fitting that BioWare has re-released the trilogy as the remastered Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. And now more fans than ever will be able to re-experience the trilogy, as Mass Effect: Legendary Edition has been added to the EA Play subscription service.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition has been available for some time now, having launched in May this past year. That makes it a prime choice for EA Play, having been available for well over six months. EA Play doesn't get new games like Xbox Game Pass might, but rather collects older games that will make more in new subscriptions than they will in sales. With the excitement surrounding Mass Effect 4, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition on EA Play makes a lot of sense.

EA Play being a subscription service that grants subscribers access to a library of classic Electronic Arts games, there's a lot of potential value available to subscribers. A month of EA Play costs just $4.99, a much more affordable price compared to its current discounted $29.99 price on the PlayStation Store or full $59.99 price on Steam. All three Mass Effect trilogy games, as well as Mass Effect Andromeda, are also available on EA Play, for enthusiasts who want the full experience.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also be rewarded by Mass Effect: Legendary Edition becoming a part of EA Play. That's because Xbox Game Pass includes a subscription to EA Play. Xbox Game Pass subscribers on either PC or Xbox consoles should now be able to play Mass Effect: Legendary Edition as part of their subscriptions.

Many Mass Effect fans have been waiting for this opportunity to play Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, given the price of the collection. Some people are big Mass Effect fans, but not so much that they'd pay $60 to replay games that may not be as fun as their memories recall them. But now, for just $4.99, that's a much more affordable option.

What's somewhat surprising is that EA didn't save Mass Effect: Legendary Edition for a bigger occasion. That said, if there is a Mass Effect 4 reveal later this year, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will be available on PC, PlayStation and Xbox at a very affordable price for fans to experience the original trilogy all over again.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
