A few days ago, iam8bit, which is the organization acting as the creative director for E3 2020's show floor plans, suddenly announced its resignation via a Twitter post. Now, the organizers of E3, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) released a statement confirming the company's resignation as the show's creative directors, and also thanked the organization for its contributions to this year's show.

Additionally, the ESA indicated in its statement that E3 2020 will not lack a creative design despite losing its creative directors roughly three months before the event is scheduled to take place. "We have an innovative and experienced team in place including Endeavor's creative agency 160iver90, event innovators Mat+Lo, and longtime E3 partners, GES, Dolaher Events, and Double Forte," ESA's statement read. Furthermore, the E3 organizers confirmed that all of the aforementioned companies will be collaborating to bring E3 2020 to life and provide an exciting experience for the fans, media, and the industry as a whole.

Apart from iam8bit, Geoff Keighley, who previously hosted and organized the E3 Coliseum since 2017, also confirmed that he won't be returning to the video game conference this year as well. The Game Awards producer did not mention any specifics as to why he is ditching the event this year but made it clear that he supports game developers, and will be looking for a different way to support the industry.

Despite losing key companies and the ongoing threat of COVID19, the ESA confirmed earlier this month that E3 2020 will be "moving ahead full speed." However, the organizers also stated that standard safety and health measures will be implemented throughout the event to protect all attendees, exhibitors, and staff. Moreover, the ESA revealed that it is monitoring the COVID19 situation closely, so the event may still be canceled should the outbreak continue to worsen.

Unfortunately, the city of Los Angeles, which is the location where E3 2020 will be held, recently declared a state of emergency due to the growing concern of local transmission of COVID19 in the area. As of the moment, the ESA hasn't issued a response on the state of E3 2020 now that Los Angeles is under a state of emergency. However, it is possible that if the Los Angeles state of emergency is still in effect in June, then it is more than likely that the ESA would be forced to cancel, or at least postpone E3 2020.
